My dog could play sf about as well as Jeff adrien...he's a power forward

Daniels is our backup sg

Beverly/Canaan/Johnson
Harden/Daniels/Johnson
Ariza/gee/Covington
Jones/motiejunas/adrien
Howard/Capella/Dorsey

I would expect Capella and Covington in the d-league if Covington even makes the team nick may spend time down there too

Close...

But Marshall is no longer with us, instead, our 2nd round pick Jordan Clarkson will probably fill backup PG duties if Nash goes down again. We also re-signed Wesley Johnson to play the 3 and Ryan Kelly is 7'0" tall, he's never going to play the 3 spot

Depth chart will more closely resemble:
PG - Jeremy Lin, Steve Nash, Jordan Clarkson
SG - Kobe Bryant, Nick Young
SF - Wesley Johnson, Xavier Henry
PF - Carlos Boozer, Julius Randle, Ryan Kelly
C - Jordan Hill, Robert Sacre, Ed Davis

As it stands today:

MINNESOTA TIMBERWOLVES
Rubio / Williams / Barea*
Martin / LaVine / Budinger
Wiggins / Brewer / Muhammad
Young / Bennett / Hummel
Pekovic / Dieng / Turiaf

*Barea will most likely be off the team by opener and LaVine would be third string PG.

Utah's currently looks like this:

Burke/Exum/Bost
Burks/Exum/Murphy/Clark/Hood
Hayward/Hood/Felix/Murry
Favors/Booker/Evans/Novak/Motum/Cooley
Kanter/Gobert

We have to cut three players/

I expect it to look like this on opening day:
Burke/Exum/Bost
Burks/Exum/Hood
Hayward/Hood/Felix
Favors/Booker/Novak/Evans
Kanter/Gobert/Favors

Don't be surprised if one of our centers is moved.

Our starting lineup is an interesting subject to the faithful. For the first time in forever there's going to be change. At least at SG. Maybe even at center too. And the final decisions likely won't be made until the end of October. I'm wondering if Brooks' head explodes over having to make a change. Ok, ya, that's not fair. But seriously, that's what I'm thinking. And I bet I'm not the only one.

Roberson, a very good defender and rebounder, got most of the SG starts when Thabo was injured in the regular season but he can't shoot. Although I like his "Shawn Marion early in his career" garbage point capability, the team needs a SG who can consistently make a three and space the floor. Jackson started when Thabo was benched against the Spurs but that leaves the second unit a bit compromised. That would be tough to deal with over an 82 game season. But politically, starting Jackson may be what it takes to sign him. Lamb seems like a great fit offensively but his toughness and defense has not been up to standard plus he suffered confidence issues last season... especially after Butler joined the team. Too damn bad we can't morph Lamb's offense and Roberson's defense into a single player. That guy would be all NBA. Morrow? My opinion is that he will be an off the bench three point specialist. A valuable specialist. But almost certainly not the starter. Bottom line, the starting SG job is for either Roberson, Jackson or Lamb to win and the only thing for certain is that Huestis won't get it because he won't be on the roster.

As for the starting center job opening night, ya, Perk likely gets the nod. At least most nights. This is Perk's contract year and he cares. A lot. And we all need to remember, without Perk we don't beat Memphis last spring. Big dude is overpaid but he contributes. And Brooks loves consistency. But it's a long season, older guys tend to get injured and Adams was getting better on a daily basis last year. If he keeps that going this year he will be tough to keep on the bench. Almost assuredly Perk's minutes will decline and Adams' minutes will increase. I think the more interesting question is who will be starting in the playoffs?

PG: Westbrook, Jackson, Telfair
SG: Lamb, Morrow, Roberson
SF: Durant, Jones, Jerrett
PF: Ibaka, Collison, McGary
C: Perkins, Adams
notSonics 2016
Starters - Trey, Roberson, KD, Ibaka, Adams
Rotation - Payne, Waiters, Green, McGary, Kanter
Bench - Collison, Christon, Brodgon, Huestis
Stash - Johnson, Abrine
Cut - Morrow
Trade - Singler
Draft - Brogdon
FA - Green

I would list it this way currently:

(Rondo)/Smart/Pressey/(Bynum - prob. released)
Bradley/Thornton/Young
Green/Turner/Wallace
Sullinger/Bass/Powell
Olynyk/Zeller/(Faverani - out until ~Dec.)

I was fairly certain prior to pre-season Zeller would be the starter at C, but they've pretty much gone with an Olynyk/Sullinger pairing at the 5-4. Zeller has had a few flashes but has had a lot of ugly moments more than anything, and is set to start as a bench 5. Olynyk has looked ok and Sullinger has pretty much beasted on some relatively weak comp. I'm not a fantasy guy but he could be a really solid sleeper pickup, IMO.

Smart is set to start at the 1 until Rondo comes back, which sounds earlier than later at this point. And I added Thornton in front of Young, who was recovering from a car accident and then pulled a hammy, so missed most of camp. Thornton's looked decent as well.

Turner sounds set to get plenty of minutes between 2 and 3, I think they have a priority to get him in. Green and to a lesser degree Wallace will see more time at 4 than last year. They have 16 roster spots so someone's got to go, most likely one of Bynum, Powell or Pressey. I'd bet Bynum as he just arrived but who knows.

If we only list each player once, this is what I think it will be now:

Kanter/Gobert

Exum is a point guard, and isn't ready to play big minutes. Burke and Exum will split pg duties, with spot minutes off the ball for Exum.
In '03-'04, Jerry Sloan coached the ESPN predicted "worst team of all time" to 42-40.

Bost was cut a week or so ago. I think Novak is going to play some, just to add some shooting. Looks like Murry will make the squad as a backup PG/SG. and Motum seems like he could make it as well as a backup big man.

Looks like Kerr is bringing Iguodala off the bench (as an aside, I love this move!), so GSW should be:

Curry/Livingston/Nedovic
Thompson/Barbosa/Holiday
Barnes/Iguodala/Rush
Lee/Green/Speights
Bogut/Ezeli/Kuzmic

Or more realistically, minutes wise:

PG - Curry - 36/Livingston - 12
SG - Thompson - 35/Iguodala - 13
SF - Barnes - 24/Iguodala - 15/Livingston - 9
PF - Lee - 30/Green - 18
C - Bogut - 30/Ezeli - 15/Lee - 3

Or something around that. Maybe a bit less for Bogut and Lee and they go small.
