Khris Middleton to OKC

Post#1 » by Ricepilar » Tue Aug 26, 2014 10:13 pm

For trade exception and either 1 or 2 future 2nds.

Thoughts? OKC could use an extra young forward off the bench. Milwaukee has Jabari now.

We aren't getting rid of Middleton for scraps.

Nope. Middleton isn't going anywhere. His perceived value isn't anything near what we would trade him for

Yeah no reason for the Bucks to just give him away for very late 2nds. Plus OKC signed Morrow to fill the role of bench shooter.

Im a fan of Middleton. The few Bucks games I caught last year he always looked like one of their best players.

a 2nd or two is for players like jeffrey taylor, recent rookies who showed promised once but is having a down year or should be out of their rotation.

Not sure i would move it for taylor but thats the kind of prospect that a future late 2nd might get.

My first reaction was..who's Middleton and why does OKC care. My second was, why trade anyone of any value for a VERY low #2?

A player who if he was on any other team then the Bucks last season would have a lot of buzz around him as a 3+D role player.

Middleton is worth a pretty good pick. He's going to be a good scorer/3-point shooter for a long time.

Middleton is a good player, why are Mil giving him away like this? He's worth a mid first.

I think if Milwaukee is moving him, it'd only be for them to upgrade another spot like PG/SG. Unless they think that Giannis/Parker/Middleton can play together for long periods of time.

I'd maybe do as a Bucks fan:

Middleton, Henson, Mayo, and Knight for R. Jackson, K. Perkins, J. Lamb, and P. Jones 3, and a late 1st?

I understand why the bucks wouldn't do this...

But the thunder have their own semi-interesting young guys that can play back up sf - if you aren't going to sign or trade for a vet why not play lamb/jones/Roberson/huetis?

Middleton is a good defender?

Middleton is a keeper. If the Bucks lose him and then want to be elite in 3 years, they will just need to find another Khris Middleton to give 20+mpg. Of course everybody has their price, but the price in the OP happens to suck.

Yep, I think people outside of MKE fans assume he put up garbage time stats, but the reality is this guy is a deadly 3pt shooter who started to demonstrate a little driving to the hoop skills toward the end of the year.

He was actually playing incredibly well and for some reason Larry Drew inexplicably dropped him out of the rotation and completely f***ked with his mind. If not for that, he may have had an even better season.

Couple all that with the strength training he's been doing this season, as apparently he has been working his ass off and looks good. I'm pretty excited to see what we have, I think this guy has potential to be a Michael Redd-esque guy in this league.

Middleton is the definition of a solid player in this league. He's going to have a long career in the league. No reason to give that up for what's being offered here.

Yes and the fact that the Bucks were a bad defensive team doesn't change that.
