Bulls Double Down, w/ BRK, IND

Post#1 » by ecuhus1981 » Fri Aug 29, 2014 1:09 am

This is more of a midseason or TDL deal, and a few of the pieces can't be moved until Dec. 15th. If anyone is gonna pry Paul George from Indy, I think it'd be a deal like this. CHI has the assets to land PG, but BRK filters long-term contracts into expiring vets with championship experience for the win-now Pacers. Tell me what you think!

Trade ID# 6507446

BRK trades Garnett/Anderson for Gibson/Miles
Nets add long-term money to bring athleticism inside and scoring outside. CJ is one of Deron's BFF's from Utah, and Brooklyn native Taj could inject the "aggressiveness" that Hollins seeks.
Williams, Johnson, Bogdanovic, Gibson, Lopez
Jack, Miles, Kirilenko, Teletovic, Plumlee

CHI trades Gibson/Dunleavy/McDermott/SAC1st for George/Sloan/Whittington
Bulls consolidate assets to assemble a super-team lineup.
Rose, Butler, [George], Gasol, Noah
Brooks, Hinrich, Snell, Mirotic, Bairstow

IND trades George/Miles/Sloan/Whittington for Garnett/Dunleavy/McDermott/Anderson/SAC1st
Pacers net a lotto SF, a promising pick and solid vets to aid the present and future.
Hill, Anderson, McDermott, West, Hibbert
Watson, Stuckey, Dunleavy, Scola, Garnett
Some people really have a way with words. Other people... not... have... way.

Indy isn't trading a locked in star that appears happy in Indianapolis.

Especially for that package. Just not a good trade

Not sure how Brooklyn nets Gibson while sending out neutral value guys.

And like has been said, this isn't even close to something we would think about.

Unless Paul George is confined to a Rascal for the rest of his life, that's a very bad deal for Indiana. Garnett, Dunleavy, and Anderson are of no use to Indiana, making the deal Paul George for Doug McDermott + a protected pick that could turn into second rounders if it's not conveyed by 2017.

I've argued in the past that Paul George is overrated, but I can't express how much I dislike this return for him.

This shall be the stock answer the rest of this season in Paul George trade offers.

Seriously, he's not getting traded. Doubly so not mid-season, when we'll already have played a quarter of the season without him.

Chicago could give the Pacers everything they have in tradeable assets and the Pacers would still decline. PG isn't getting traded at this time, or at this price, and certainly not to a division rival.

Now about the trade itself: Paul George would fetch more than this even if he tore his Achilles rather than an injury that should heal 100% by next season. Garbage trade.
