How does this work exactly? Are we suppose to ignore factors like contract, fit, injury history, saturation at that players position, etc... Is this just a straight one for one with all else ignored like building a team from scratch?

I'm a Raptors fan so obviously bias to an extent, but I'd trade DeRozan in heart beat for Curry & Aldridge.

Horford probably has slightly higher trade value, but then there's the whole injury thing. I like Holiday, but with so many options at PG in the league I'd take DeRozan over him.

I'd probably put DeRozan in between Horford and Holiday, or roughly the same level as Horford.

I wouldn't ignore contract or injury history. But, feel free to ignore fit.

I think you have the right idea. I have him a little lower than you, but, that's to be expected with your understandable bias.

I imagine it like I'm the GM of a random team, and I don't know which team that is. And I'm posed the question, 'you can either add Derozan (and his contract) or Horford (and his contract) to your team. Without knowing who your other players are or in what state of contention your team is in, who do you take?'

3 folks in here would take Derozan over LMA?

Why?

Almost as bad as whoever voted Wallace, which means they wouldn't trade Mayo for Derozan.

Horford.
Matthews isn't nearly as good or valuable a player as Derozan.

I voted based on age and contract situations. It may seem over the top, but I believe Shooting Guard is a more necessary position at this time. He truly is a top five SG. Those are hard to come by. Aldrige is a much better player, but he is due for a five year max contract next season that will cut into a major decline. My understanding that this is based on effectiveness, age, salary, and position, and team rosters are not involved. For these reasons, I picked Demar.

And also, these polls are corrupted by people who like to vote to mess things up. Anything below Ariza should be considered invalid. I understand that cannot be done, but it is so lame when people do stuff like that.

Well, thanks for at least defending your selection. I was worried it was just Toronto fans that didn't want their guy to 'lose'.

Yeah, voted Matthews, but honestly would change to Holiday after thinking. To me I think they're both solid players, but after more thought Derozan's at a thinner position depth wise in the league. I'd probably change my vote if I could.

Somewhere near Jrue/Mathhews and nowhere near Horford or especially LMA.

Horford >> DeRozan > Jrue/Matthews

TBH I'd rather have Matthews over Jrue but I'd take DeMar over either of them
