This idea is based on the following:
-Nash is out for season, Nick Young is hurt
-Bynum is being shopped
-Celtics have lots of young players and forth coming draft picks, Lakers do not.
As a result, ill offer this idea.
To Boston
-Steve Nash (waive)
To Los Angeles:
-Will Bynum
-Gerald Wallace
-2015 Los Angeles Clippers 1st round pick (projected 24-30)
-2016 Cleveland Cavs 1st round pick (projected 24-30)
Allows Boston to clear another $10 million off the books for next off-season for greater flexibility. Frees up minutes for younger players at the 1 and 3 spots.
Lakers get short term backup point guard and backup SF in Wallace while adding to draft pick cupboard for an eventual re-build after Kobe Bryant era.

Re: Celtics/Lakers
I'm assuming the two picks are to eat each year of Wallace's deal? The Celtics shouldn't trade a pick to dump Bynum. They should either eat his contract, or keep him and eat a smaller deal.
I wouldn't trade two firsts to dump Wallace in a deal where nothing comes back. A first and a second maybe. The Celtics aren't quite that desperate for space.
Nash for Wallace and a pick is fine to me.

Two rounds for cut 10 millions of wallace contract? you think nash contract is inexistent thing? you think that have 1 year of injured nash is better than 1 year of wallace?
Boston haven't necessity of dump wallace contract, and less in a trade for nash or other useless players.

Lakers are actually only eating one year with Nash's bad deal going out.
It's a buyer's market for cap space and the Lakers would be lucky to get one first in this deal.

It really comes down to do the Celtics value the roster opening now and $10 million in flexibility next summer or 2 late 1st round picks in successive years?

I'll take the picks. The Celtics should have enough Cap space to do what they want next summer with or without Wallace. And I don't think they are that desperate to keep a guy this year that they need the roster space. Dumping a pick is fine. Dumping two firsts, even if they are late, is a bit steep for me.

Well they have Smart, Bradley, Young, Turner, Sullinger, Zeller, Olynyk, Faverani, Powell, 2015 1st pick (likely lottery). I think with those 10 roster spots accounted for, what impact will 2 late 1st round picks have vs. $4 million in savings this season and $10 million in savings this off-season.

I'd keep the picks. I don't believe Nash can be traded either since he's injured.

yes he could, the team that gets him waives the physical.
