Utah Jazz/ OKC Thunder

Post#1 » by new2 » Mon Jan 26, 2015 9:34 pm

This Trade idea looks like it can work:

Utah receives: Kendrick Perkins (C), Reggie Jackson (PG), Grant Jerrett (PF)
Trades: Enes Kanter (C), Steve Novak (SF), Trey Burke (PG)

OKC receives: Enes Kanter (C), Steve Novak (SF), Trey Burke (PG)
Trades: Kendrick Perkins (C), Reggie Jackson (PG), Grant Jerrett (PF)

Utah would have an improvement at PG and RJ get to join a team that may start him.
OKC receives a center that can be an upgrade towards what they have with a PG that can come off the bench well.

If I were OKC, I wouldn't want Kanter and Adams on the same roster. Kanter is too much of a defensive liability to go to a contender at this point in his career. Particularly, when he's a RFA this summer.

Jarret Allen isn’t winning you anything. Garland won’t show up in the playoffs. Mobley is a glorified dunk man. Mitchell has some experience but is a liability on defense. To me, the Cavs are a treadmill team.

Utah says no, no real point in trading for RJ, Exum has played really well the last two games as a starter. We'd rather deal with Kanter's RFA situation and keep Burke than deal with RJ's and not have Burke.

I'd give this a shot. Heck, rather Kanter than Lopez, and I don't know how much money he gets in the offseason.

Less than Lopez, that's for sure, I imagine Pek or Favors money.
Ingles is cooked.

I figured less than Pek, but even at 10 mil I'd be thrilled. Either way, there's a chance Kanter plays more healthy games of basketball in the remaining half of this season than Lopez does in the 1 1/2 left on his deal.
