TOR - DEN: Raps get their 3 and 5. Nugs go for Future

Post#1 » by MessiahUjiri » Tue Jan 27, 2015 10:55 pm

Denver trades: Wilson Chandler, Javale McGee, Darell Arthur, Erick Green
($23MM)

Toronto trades: 2015 1st, Landry Fields, Chuck Hayes, Lou Williams, Tyler Handsbrough.
($20MM)

I've been thinking about this for a LONG time. There are different variations of this trade, but this one makes great sense.

Denver takes on all expirings, sheds $3MM this year, gets out of Javale Mcgees $12MM contract for next year, gains an asset, while opening up playing time for Nurkic.

Toronto gets their starting 3 and a shot blocking 5, both of which Masai has publicly stated as needs. They lose some scoring with Lou, but it actually opens up the court a lot, because Lou is taking 12 shots at a 40% clip.

Don't think Toronto takes on McGee's deal. I think Chandler is a great target for them, been discussed. Don't think Lou needs to be included.

Fields, Ross, 2015 1st for Chandler, Foye

So you'd give up Ross AND a 1st, for basically Chandler?

If I were Denver, I'd rather have the Sac 1st from the Bulls.

Maybe I'm being unfair to him, but I still don't see Javale McGee as the solution to anything. I just really would not trust him to be reliable, especially coming to a new team and learning a new system mid-season.

Fields + 1st for Chandler is nice and simple and makes some sense. But if you're looking for a C, I'd rather see what else is out there.

I also love Chandler for the Raptors, but I don't think McGee is an upgrade over anyone on the current roster. That would be money that Toronto could spend somewhere else. And Lou Williams has been so good for Toronto, I can't see them being willing to move him.

Lou Williams is the best player in the deal. No way from Toronto.

McGee is not an upgrade over the current center so leave him out too.

Chandler for Fields + a 1st makes more sense and is simpler.

Personally, I don't think Chandler is worth a 1st though.

Toronto will do a Fields and first plus DeAndre Daniels for Chandler adding in Hainsbrough and Williams for McGee is really bad

I'd gladly give McGary for Chandler. He's a great utility SF and can defend multiple positions. He's worth a 1st. And a pretty good one.

I'd do Perk, Lamb, McGary for Chandler. Gets OKC out of the tax.

Doesn't work you need to send a extra $3 to $4 million to OKC from Denver. Foye plus Chandler for Lamb, Perkins and McGary work

A moot point since Denver says NO WAY !!! This is a Tor gets what it needs and Denver is expected to take the offer....it doesn't happen that way.

This deal is basically Chandler for Toronto's first, plus the benefit of moving McGee and then a lot of meaningless filler.

I think Denver can get a better pick for Chandler and can also live with McGee's deal for the last year.
