Excellent write-up, Smitty, and I agree with everything you've written.

I will be curious to see what happens with our non-Kanter capspace...if we try to sign a long-term piece, or short-term vets like we did with Booker, or sell it like we did with Biedrins/R-Jeff/Novak.

I would love to sign Joe Johnson. Getting this team playoff experience has to be a priority, and I think Johnson would have a lot of value in terms of his scoring and ability to mentor Alec and Hayward who have a lot of similar attributes.

Joe Johnson isn't a FA and I can't see the Jazz willingly taking on 24+ million for him next year. I'm sure Brooklyn would be happy to dump him for almost anything at this point. Even a high protected 2nd that will never convey.

Yeah, I have always liked JJ a lot and would be happy to have him as a veteran presence/scorer for a year...but his salary makes it quite impossible. We don't even have crap expirings to send back as filler any more.
