They don't view Martins 7m deal as a bad contract.
It's very reasonable for the scoring he provides.

I never said Martin's contract was bad. I just said it is the type of contract that a rebuilding team doesn't need to be carrying. When you add to it he plays the same spots as Wiggins and Muhammad, he's not necessary for Minnesota.

Re: Minnesota Timberwolves 2015-2016 Projected Cap Space
I have been throwing around the concept of applying for medical retirement for Nikola Pekovic for a couple months now. The surgery he is having will potentially make him miss all of next season and he has recently expressed fear in his future outside of basketball. He was struggling to walk before and after games, so the legitimacy of his injury is definitely there.
There was one video of Pek sitting on the bench and Zach Lavine gently tapping his ankle while walking by him. I hope a fellow fan has the video of Pekovic's reaction, but if not I can state that he looked as if he was going to shoot to the moon.
Though a difficult path to take given the NBA being very serious about testing whether parietal can play, it is definitely something to keep an eye on for our 2016 cap space.

Fair enough that you didn't say it was bad. My mistake, but 7m is hardly a contract that a "rebuilding" team doesn't need. At some point you need quality players to get out of "rebuilding" and I wouldn't feel hampered at all by his deal.
Also, Muhammad is definitely not a 2. Their games are not similar at all.
Wiggins has position flexibility and can play with both Shabazz or Kevin. No logjam at all.
IF they draft Russell then you may have another discussion on your hands but right now that's not the case.
