Min-Chic
From the Bulls' board, with a tweak
KMart and Dieng for Taj and the Bulls' #22
Taj is the best player in the deal, he is a young 30 minutes wise and would add some toughness/vet leadership to Minny's kids. They can't suck forever.
Bulls upgrade from Dunleavy and get a young 4th big. I would start Snell and Butler, and add KMart off the bench
This deal is also POSSIBLE with McDougie in place of the #22 if Minny throws something else back

I like it for the Wolves. Would rather have #22 than McDermott

Cool, let's do it-when does Martin expire? I believe it's 2017, just like Taj

A little light on value for the Bulls, IMO.

Re: Min-Chic
We need a young, defensive big like Dieng. Martin to me is not that important, and I hope he does not start. He would be a nice punch off the bench, but I would start Snell

Agree - even if you let the Bulls keep #22 I think it favors the Wolves significantly.
Also, why do the bulls want a 3rd center?

Re: Min-Chic
Dieng must have regressed this year, he was a great prospect last year. We would LOVE to keep the #22. Bulls need to find a good match for Mirotic long term, and Dieng seems like he fits the mold, and he is SUPER cheap for 2 more years

Re: Min-Chic
I simply cannot understand why Minnesota fans are discontent with Gorgui Dieng, he has played really, really well for us.
I really like Taj Gibson, he is one of my favourite NBA players, but I think trading away a solid young player with two years at under two million a year would simply be foolish. And that is coming from somebody who is desperate to trade Kevin Martin! I am greedy and love the Baby Giraffe, so it would be a no from me.

Re: Min-Chic
If Tyus Jones is available at 22 and the Wolves can get Towns or Okafor, I'd be all for this. I'd be hesitant to trade Dieng because he's still young and cheap and because the Wolves' other Cs are all injury prone, but I think this is good enough value to be worth it. Especially since Dieng improved offensively from his rookie to his sophomore year but regressed badly on defense. Minny needs D at Center more than offense.
C - Towns/ Pekovic/ Garnett (Pek and KG play limited backup minutes in alternating games to stay healthy)
PF- Gibson/ Payne/ Bennett
SF - Wiggins/ Shabazz/ Hummel
SG - LaVine/ Budinger/ 3-and-D roleplayer
PG - Rubio/ Jones/ Brown
Bjelica, Bennett, and Budinger would all be available in a trade to upgrade the backup C and SG positions.
That looks like a solid roster with a very high upside to me.

Wouldn't Bulls fans rather target a SF? Considering how good Butler looked at the two?
If they're giving up Taj and a first (albeit a pretty late one) I feel they should be able to get what they really need.
Still feel they can look for a center next year when they will likely have two picks with Sac hopefully improving as they should.. Noah and Gasol aren't that old.
Get a small forward using 1-2 of Taj, Gasol, and their first and contend next season.

Not all of us.
I like Taj, but not at the cost of Dieng. Trading Dieng (prospect) for Taj (vet) would be a classic win-now move. Wolves have a promising future, but even with the homer glasses, Wolves fans have to admit they are far away from winning anything.

I agree here. I like the value for the most part...just question why we would do this right now. Taj could bring over his defensive presence and help us a lot, but he is 29. It's going to take a couple of seasons for Wiggins, Lavine, Bazz, 1st round pick to really be ready to win, what's Taj going to look like then? Unless he can mentor Payne/Bennett into someone that can jump him in the lineup and he still remains effective off the bench into his later 30s.
Depending who is there at #22, I'd most likely accept this. I'm tired of seeing a horrible team, Rubio/Wiggins/Bazz/Taj/KAT or Okafor should be a nice team for awhile and we can hopefully have a young PF grow into that role later on.
