NYK/ORL/SAC

Post#1 » by ORANGEandBLUE » Sat Apr 18, 2015 8:22 pm

SAC gets: 2015 NYK 1st (Towns) and Nic Vucevic
NYK gets: 2015 1st from ORL and SAC
ORL gets: Cousins

Why for SAC: Vlade-Vuc connection, and Towns would be a great compliment to him. The two would be a good frontcourt for a Karl style team.

Why for NYK: NY needs depth, and if they don't see any of the top players having true elite potential, it might make sense to go for a good defensive combo like Stanley Johnson and Cauley-Stein.

Why for ORL: They seem to want to make the leap and stop being a rebuilding team. Cousins would be a huge upgrade and fits nicely with the players they already have.

This is one of the first realistic packages I have seen for Cousins. Vucevic is a very productive player and they get another top pick.

Orlando obviously gets Cousins.

I'm not sure if the Knicks would do it. Do they want one of the top rookies? Or do they want a couple of pretty good rookies?

I don't think the Knicks are in it for a long rebuild. I think they want impact guys right now to go with Carmelo Anthony. That is where the trade breaks down for me. But I like the general idea.

Orlando is trading Vuc and #5

I think Johnson and WCS would both make an immediate impact, just based on hustle and athleticism which the Knicks sorely lack.

I think most would consider Towns a more valuable asset than Cousins, especially given the differences in salary.

IMO Cousins is worth more than the #1 pick. So there is where we disagree.

I'm not a fan of offense strictly centers, it's just not how the modern game is played. I wouldn't give the 6 for Vuc or give up Cousins for the #1 but it's an interesting variation, I'll give you that

I'd much rather have #6 over vucevic and that's where we have a problem. I'd want the #1 overall plus some.

If I'm the Knicks I'm not giving up Townes for anyone available at those picks.

Cousins is proven as the best young center in the league. He's worth more than Townes.

Good value for SAC, but can Vuc and Towns really play together? Switch Vucevic with Oladipo.

I like this trade for all 3 teams. And with the 5th pick the knicks would select winslow instead of stanley.

I don't really see why it has to be 3 teams. If there's a deal for cousins they will probably go with whoever has the #1. Orlando can put together something without involving the Knicks at all.

Knicks are getting a bit much for the #1 overall, but sounds like an interesting notion.

Vicuvic is so overrated. The downgrade from cousins to him isn't worth moving up 5 spots in the draft. Other fans need to stop making proposals for cousins.

Then most people are stupid. What are the odds of Townes putting up 24, 12.7, 3.6 plus good defense in the next 4-5 years? At an amazing contract.

Enough with the Cousins trades. Save them for your dreams. Stop spewing that crap on here. It's NOT HAPPENING this summer or probably ever.

Well... I'd agree this actually tried to be realistic. I'd say SAC is the team a bit sketchy. Besides Cousins...they DO give a top 10 pick.

There's a big GAMBLE... Sac can't assume Cousins or Vuc wants to stay. You never REALLY know what any draft pick becomes. Orlando? they bet everything Cousins is a keeper...and they LOST...Shaq..McGrady..Penny Hardaway.
CENSORED... No comment.

Not even close for the Kings.

Cousins >> #1 pick
#6 >= Vucevic
