What teams need a Sg?

Post#1 » by Dukenukem23 » Sun Aug 23, 2015 10:56 pm

I've got Demar derozan and/or Terrence Ross on the block. I want to create a trade scenario for those two but don't know what teams would be interested. Help is appreciated :)

Atlanta could be a good destination for Ross. Maybe Memphis for DeRozan? No idea. I don't think teams are falling over themselves for these pieces but they have some value, just need to find the right team.

Not a great time with both of them going into free agency after a year. Mavericks make some sense if they could scrounge up pieces for Derozan, they are always interested in adding talent. Also can see the Suns/Celtics having interest to add an "all-star" level wing.

I feel like you would do both of them more justice in separate threads. The characteristics of each really suggest entirely different teams. Although maybe one meg thread will get everyone.

Philly does't make sense, too close to needing money and too far along to fit the super young core. I always wanted to make a Derozan to Boston trade based upon he is expiring so if it fails everyone walks. But making it work for each is tough; Sulllinger Bradley?

Derozan for Taj Gibson with value evening might be the most interesting one I got.

Sacramento is a possible destination for me. They aren't heavily analytics based and are so desperate to make the playoffs this year that they won't mind his current contract situation.

What pieces do the Mavs have to trade for a guy like DeRozan???

I really like T Ross and think he needs a change of scenery. He would make an awesome 3&D guy and showed great flashes this. Clippers would love another swingman of this nature. I'd do a Crawford + Two future 2nds unprotected + $3m cash for Ross + Powell (salary matching)

Atlanta could use Ross - maybe Schroder?

What are you looking for?

How about Denver?

Ross for K. Papa and their 2016 2nd?

Den takes a flier on Ross and Raps get a high second rounder.

Rondo/DeRozan/Gay/?/Cousins is a recipe for disaster. Cousins plus three players that are fairly useless without the ball is not going to start or end well. We already know DeRozan/Gay was a disaster. The Kings won't bite on that.

Never said it would be a good move, just a possible destination. If there's one team you can count on to make a questionable move out of desperation it's Sacramento.

First off, DeRozan isn't going anywhere. He was huge in recruiting Free Agents for the Raptors, and will continue to be. He is expiring and looking for a huge raise, so we probably won't get as much value as we'd like.

Though to evaluate since DeRozan and Ross are such different players.

Ross possible destinations (just off fit):
-Denver
-Atlanta
-Charlotte
-Bulls
-Pistons
-Suns
-Kings

DeRozan possible destinations (just off fit):
-Cavilers
-Grizzlies
-Knicks
-Celtics

If you're just generally asking what Toronto is looking for a 4 would be the main thing. But, if we're trading Ross we'd also like some bench shooting coming back too.

How about something centered around

Markieff Morris + PJ Tucker
for
DeRozan + J. Johnson

Suns get rid of their headache for an allstar
Raps pick up a solid veteran as well as getting a good player looking for a change in scenery.
Edit: This would center around DeMar's ability to play some sf, but I think he would do well with Sun's run and gun

If we trade Kieff we'll probably be looking to bring in a replacement 4 not another guard

Was thinking that J. Johnson would be filling the time there

SAC could be a destination, but the derozan/Gay duo was pretty ugly in Toronto if that's any indication of how it would work out.

No, Powell is not a throw in and I wouldn't do that trade for just Ross even.

I assume Schroeder is off the table, but what I was really looking for was to see what teams truly need a SG and I was going to create a trade proposal based off of that need.

I think Ross is worth a late first at worst. He will be a RFA this summer. No need to dump him for nothing.
