Trade value of Kyle Korver among SGs

Post#1 » by theonlyclutch » Sun Oct 4, 2015 4:32 am

What is the trade value of Kyle Korver among SGs? What might your team trade for him?

Pros:
-Controlled for 2 more years at ~5M per
-One of the best shooters in the game (ever), the respect that defenses give his shot opens up teammates (+/- stats had him as offensive MVP of the Hawks)

Cons:
-Coming off ankle surgery, unknown effectiveness
-Susceptible to age-related decline over his age 34/35 seasons

SG: 2005 Manu Ginobili/2012 James Harden

PF: 2013 Matt Bonner/ 2010 Amir Johnson
C: 1977 Kareem Abdul Jabaar

Age + injury definitely hurt his value.
A contender could send a late first rounder and a bench player (to match salary), but don't expect anything special.

A contender would definitely still give more than a late 1st for Korver. His age isn't a big concern for a team whose window is now and he's absolutely a big enough difference maker for teams to take a chance on the injury.

I mean imagine OKC or Cleveland or Chicago or Houston or Memphis with Kyle Korver. You don't think they'd give more than a late 1st?

Yeah OKC would give a lot more than a late 1st. Not any great fits though for ATL.

Korver has a skill set that ages extremely well. The injury could be hazardous for a guy his age though. He has mid 1st round value to a contender IMO.

Waiters+Payne for Korver? Thunder already have a 3PT shooter in Morrow but Korver is a much better improvement at SG

Waiters probably has negative trade value tbh.
