Raptors need shooters

Post#1 » by Alfred » Fri Nov 20, 2015 7:25 pm

The Raptors are currently on the market for a bench shooter who plays shooting guard, small forward or power forward. The two guys that the Raptors have off the bench that are supposed to hit shots (Ross and Patterson) aren't.

The Raps have a few decent trade pieces. Are there any good trades that could be made?

Shooters are in pretty high demand these days! What sorts of assets are you putting on the table?

What about:

Patrick Patterson + Bruno Caboclo

for

Marco Belinelli (after the trade restriction ends)

Lol. Those guys are shooting worse than Patterson and Ross, the guys who aren't shooting well enough :)

I would say that Jamal Crawford, Nick Young, and Kevin Martin are the most realistic players that are likely to be available. I'm not sure that anyone really wants Nick Young so that leaves Crawford/Martin. To match salaries it's going to take Patrick Patterson going out and would also likely require a little more value to make it worthwhile for the Wolves or Clippers.

For the Wolves I would look at something like: Martin/Rudez/2nd for Patterson/Caboclo

That gives Toronto a proven high efficiency scorer to lead their second unit and a very good 3pt shooter who can play spot minutes. The Wolves get a struggling player in Patterson who might benefit from a new environment and a lottery ticket.

I do like the Martin idea. There's a guy who's a proven shooter who might realistically be available.

unfortunately masai ujiri is a gm who has more than the quarter of a brain required to see that jamal crawford is an awful nba player who can't do anything worthwhile.

and since doc has slightly less brain than that he's never going to be moved. i expect a 2 year extension at the end of the year tbh.
