Kyrie Irving's trade value

Post#1 » by jbk1234 » Sat Feb 6, 2016 4:37 pm

I don't think the Cavs will trade him and I'm not sure that they should, but I am curious as to what other fans perceive his value is. Cavs would be looking for a good 3 & D player and starting caliber PG.

Ideally they should ask for another point guard in return for Irving. The best package in mind right now is Conley and Green for Irving.

Yeah I'd have no interest in Green. Maybe Conley and C. Lee.

Conley being an UFA and being due to make 8 or 9 mill more than Kyrie is prolly a no go for the Cavs FO.

I like Bradley and Crowder but IT plays pretty similar to KI. I'd rather have a pick.

I would think the Cavs would want a third win-now piece, perhaps a young player. Boston could route a pick to a third team.

I wouldn't want back a bunch of players. Maybe Smart instead of Bradley.

Teague+Horford+Sefolosha for Irving and Mozgov. Cavs upgrade their C, get solid PG, and get 3&D guy. Hawks get their potential superstar, and they stay competitive.

That's not upgrading our center position and Horford wouldn't stay. Horford, like LMA, isn't going to sign with a team that wants him to play center. Value and fit are both way off.

Even though they would be a healthy duo (for the moment, not like Kyrie and Love epitomize health), I don't see that being a long term contending team for the clips. They'd be even more treadmill compared to the rest of the west.

That is an overpay, you cannot even say Kyrie is a much more productive player then IT, if at all. Only thing is that Kyrie is like 2.2 years younger and possibly has some more upside, although I don't see him becoming a better distributor... possibly noticeably better on defense then IT.

Bradley and Crowder are also good and very good respectively. Even if it was IT+Crowder, I'd say Bos really isn't getting more production. They are getting a bigger name.... :/

I think is low in comparison his talent, because his injuries and attitude problems (especially in defense) are worrying

This move would make Cleveland ridiculously good. Talent wise none are on Kyrie's level, but collectively the depth and fit of those 3 Celtics would make Cleveland a way better team. I could actually see a Delly-Bradley-Crowder-Lebron-TT small ball lineup really giving Golden State some problems.

I think it might be a slight overpay on Boston's end, but Kyrie is such a remarkable talent, if you have a chance at pairing him with a fantastic coach like Brad Stevens, you go for it. Offensively his ceiling is insanely high, and he's shown the ability to play very good defense in the past (2nd half of last season)...I could totally see Stevens taking him to the next level on both ends of the floor. Boston can always find depth later, but you can't just find Kyrie Irvings everywhere.
