What pick would it take to get each player on your team?

Post#1 » by Laimbeer » Thu Mar 10, 2016 2:08 am

Sort of a mirror of HW's earlier thread. List the players on your team and what 2016 draft pick you would require to trade them. If they are worth more than the first pick or wouldn't be traded for legacy reasons (Dirk, etc) simply indicate "untradeable". Omit free agents. If there is a player or team option for next season, include them if it is likely to be exercised. If you consider any players to not have value, indicate "neutral" or "negative".
Comments to rationalize bad contracts -
1) It's less than the MLE
2) He can be traded later
3) It's only __% of the cap
4) The cap is going up
5) It's only __ years
6) He's a good mentor/locker room guy

Towns - Untouchable
Wiggins - #1
Lavine - #3 (in this draft)
Rubio - #3 (in this draft)
Dieng - #10
Shabazz - #20
Tyus - #25
Bjelica #35

Everyone else is relatively irrelevant, in the back end of the 2nd or we'd have to attach value.

Going with a typical draft, since I'm not familiar with the 2016 class yet. (My team is finally good, so I don't have to care too much lol)

#1: Kemba or MKG (I don't expect the team drafting #1 would even think about it, but that's what it would take)

#10: Frank or Cody

#15: Lamb

#61: Hawes and Harrison

Everyone else is a free agent.

Giannis - untouchable
Jabari - #1
Middleon - #2
Monroe - any 1st rounder
Henson - 1st rounder

No one else is really worth talking about.

Hayward, Favors, Gobert - 1
It's an overpay, but no one in the draft outside of Simmons has near the value of any of these three.

Hood - 3
See above

Exum - 4
Same

Lyles - 5
Same

Burks - 10
Neto - 20
Burke/Withey/Booker/Johnson - 35

Everyone else is free.

Jose Calderon - 30th pick in the 40th round of the MLB draft. No? How about just a Slim Jim?

I would give up a lot more for Henson than Monroe. Not even a debate

Well I did say "typical draft" since I haven't followed college basketball this year. It really would have to be a spectacular return to deal MKG.

I'm not sure the Mavs have a single non-FA worth a first. I wouldn't give up Anderson for a 2nd, but I can't see a team giving a first so...

Am I reading some of these right? A bunch of average players are worth top 5 / top 10 picks?

Russell I think is the only one the LA should probably wait and see what they have. But if the #1 pick was offered for the other 3 then they should take it and never look back.

You really wouldn't trade Larry Nancy Jr for the 1st pick? :o
