Huge Shifts in Power

Post#1 » by pipfan » Mon May 2, 2016 12:35 am

Assumptions:
1. SA wins title (figure 40% chance right now)-Duncan, Manu retire
2. Durant decides it's time to go East-GS/SA too tough
3. Boston wants to go all in
4. Memphis decides to blow it up once Conley leaves
5. NY wants a name player to join Melo
6. Bulls want to blow it up
7. ATL goes out meekly to Clev again

Lots to digest there, but all possible-none highly unlikely

1. Parker/rights to SA #1 to NY for cap space
NY gets a "star" player, tries to make playoffs next year

SA should have cap space for Conley and Horford
Conley/Mills
Green/Bender
Leondard/Anderson
LMA/Diaw
Horford/West/Boban

2. Butler to Boston
Bradley/#24 to Milw
#3/#10/2018 BRK pick to Bulls

Milw gets a perfect guard to fit what they need and still get a pick

Bulls begin rebuild, draft Murray/Poetl and deal Rose/Taj/Dunleavy-plus they still have the #14. Finally, they overpay Barnes, hoping GS won't match-then get top 7 pick of their own in 2017, plus the Sac pick (hopefully) and whatever they get for Taj

3.Marc Gasol to Boston
#16/Rozier/JYoung/2017 BRK pick/Memphis pick back to Memphis

Memphis starts the rebuild, trades all vets and starts over. Pray their 2017 pick and the BRK pick are both top 5

Boston ends up with
Smart/IT
Butler/Crowder/Smart
______/Crowder
Kelly O/KD
Marc Gasol/Zeller

The blank becomes KD-Boston becomes best team in East-vets rush to fill bench

So, summary
1. NY gets Parker and a late first for free
2. Horford/Conley join SA for a historic run
3. KD joins Butler, IT and Gasol to make the Finals
4. Milw makes playoffs again
5. Bulls blow it up, get good package for Butler
6. Memphis blows it up, starts fresh

1. SA won't do it. You have to send value their way. What does it have to do with other moves?
2. Maybe, not a bad offer.
3. I think that's to much for old, injured Gasol.
