Offers in for Mirotic

Post#1 » by GimmeDat » Sat Dec 3, 2016 10:44 pm

Interested to gauge the value of Niko Mirotic for us.. at the end of the year it appears we'll have to let either Niko or Taj go, and Taj has been exceptional.

Conversely, Mirotic has had a poor start to the season, and many Bulls fans think it's worth trading him at the deadline.

At his best, Niko is an offensive weapon, capable of getting to the FT line at will, hitting lots of 3's and making plays as a passer. Unfortunately, he's inconsistent, so he works more as an X-Factor than a core option.

Teams that might be interested - Indiana, OKC, Portland, Sacramento, Toronto, Washington?

Indiana would definitely be interested as we could really use a stretch 4 off the bench. However, we don't have much to give honestly. Certainly not giving a first round pick or GRIII, so that leaves..not much.

Hard to tell what value he holds, that's partly why I'm asking. We don't have too many roster holes right now, just looking for value, so young talent/pick(s) are ideal.

I would say maybe another rotational PF back if possible as well, but not really a priority. Portis could take Niko's role in the rotation.

Some initial deals that come to mind, open to a bit of tweaking -

Mirotic and Jerian Grant for Payne (OKC)
WCS and Casspi for Mirotic (SAC)

*Those deals include our 1st rounder.

Pick wise, I think a top 20 pick would be a deal.

Hard to say what I'd do with you guys (Portland).

I don't value Mirotic that highly, so any offer from me would probably be fairly underwhelming to Bulls fans. Portland's not really in need of another 3pt shooting big who's shooting a terrible percentage from 3. We've got plenty of those as is.

If thd nets dont get DMo, Bogs for Niko? Both are RFA at years end? Niko would fit in well with the nets, and the Bulls could use a SG/SF like Bogs who can hit threes.

Right at this moment Bogs would be great, but we've got McDermott coming back and Valentine at SG. I'm not sure an RFA for RFA move suites us too well because PF is pretty much our biggest position of need.

I could see Danny Ainge having interest, a big who can shoot is always needed in Brad Stevens offense.

Not idea what his offer would look like though.

I'd take him for the Suns if the price was low.

Interesting. I think you'd have to swap Thompson for an SG though (Stauskas/Luwawu/Korkmaz, I'd take any of them). If so, I'd probably do it.

I checked it out and you're right, he has played both wing spots, despite being 6'8. I'm not sure he's a rotation player on a solid team though. If he is, sure.

Is the deal more about Valentine to you? Wondering because you have Simmons/Ilyasova/Saric. Wouldn't have thought of you guys as good trade partners.
