Man, It's great to be alive in this world where trading Ersan, who's not being re-signed, for 2 second rounder is considered tanking and makes people outraged

Depending what Ersan Atalnta gets, decent move.

Would love one of the 2nds to be Brooklyn's but doesn't seem realisitc. Maybe Miami's protected 2nd this year and Atlanta's 2nd next year?

Wait, last I heard from Sixer fans was that Ersan was an integral piece to the team and they would consider resigning him?

Because he's playing well for Philly.

I was pretty close. Miami's 2017 2nd and a swap of Atlanta and Golden State's 2017 2nd, per multiple reports.

He's 30+ years old on the last year of his contract, playing a position we have stocked with Simmons and Saric. He was always going to be moved eventually.

He's been struggling with his shot of late and Dario has taken his minutes will on the ascent.

Nothing against Ersan but I'm very excited about what this means for Dario

He's old, expiring, and we already have a young stretch 4 who's been playing better than him lately. Relax on the hot takes, nowhere in their right mind would think the Sixers should've held on to him.Mo-Town wrote:does tanking ever get boring?

Fans or fan?
I think some may have been interested in bringing him back as a bench shooter but the writing is on the wall. Saric and Simmons will probably gobble up a bunch of minutes at the 4 for us. He had an expiring contract and was much more valuable as a bench shooter for a playoff team.
I wouldn't be surprised if we end up bringing him back on a short-term deal next year. The other players really liked him and called him "The Professional". His arrival in Philly co-incided with a marked improvement in the overall play of the team. Trading him in no way precludes us from giving him an offer but he may be hesitant to come back with limited playing time available.

So now if Tiago can just get waived and come back home, it'd work for three teams.

How is a 2nd rounder + 2nd rounder swap for a 1/3 season rental of Illysova an even deal?

Oh, unless he can be moved in the next 19 hours he is getting waived.

Dario's play, the eventual debut of Simmons, and his shot falling off a cliff changed that.

Ersan is putting up solid numbers. Almost 15 ppg on 55% TS%.
He is what he is, and he is older and expiring, but those are not bad numbers for a rental player at that price at all.

Indeed, but the "come back home" part is much less likely. Even if he doesn't play a second, I'd rather have him than Joel just because I think it would boost the chemistry. But obviously, that wouldn't be logical. I think the dude has been out for months at this point.

Splitter, i thought, was out for this season. Sixers still have about $16 mil in cap room. I'm think Tiago gets cut soon and the Sixers shop for another cost cut move for another team.
