These threads have been very helpful in the past, so thought I'd start one for stickying. Will help other fans see your needs in free agency and trades as the offseason progresses (so please update as necessary!)

Minnesota Timberwolves. EDITED: After Free Agency

Mike Conley / Shake Milton / Jordan MacLaughlin
Anthony Edwards / Nickeal Alexander-Walker / Wendell Moore Jr. / Jaylen Clark (r - inj)
Jaden McDaniels / Troy Brown Jr / Josh Minott
Karl-Anthony Towns / Kyle Anderson / Leonard Miller (r)
Rudy Gobert / Naz Reid / (Luka Garza 2-way)

Summary: The Timberwolves chose to mostly roll it back after an injury-plagued season, signing UFA Naz Reid and RFA Nickeil Alexander-Walker, and replacing Taurean Prince and Jaylen Nowell with Shake Milton and Troy Brown Jr.

Bringing back the beloved Naz Reid will likely have a trickle down effect on minutes throughout the club. Naz has yet to show he can play PF, and was one of few players who had bad two-man numbers playing alongside Gobert, but with his work ethic and strong end to the season even when KAT was back, confidence is high they can play him in both big slots. Kyle Anderson has been best at PF as well, and critical to team success, so you may see him getting minutes as the de facto PG when Mike Conley needs a breather. Both SloMo and Anderson had no trouble feeding Gobert, unlike DLo, and there is hope Edwards will improve in that area. Ant is the team’s future and re-signed for the Max, and a lucrative offer for Jaden McDaniels is expected soon, so the starting SG and SF positions are locked up for a long time. In fact, the Wolves have a strong, big, Top 7, and the real competition for minutes will come at the back up guard spots.

It is unlikely the team is considering a Karl-Anthony Towns trade in the off-season, because they aren’t rebuilding without the picks they traded Utah, and to win-now, they would be unlikely to find a player that better maximizes Ant offensively. Defensively, even if KAT struggles, he plays between great defenders in McDaniels and Gobert. The team’s looming problem though is that they will get very expensive next year when the extensions for Towns, Edwards and McDaniels all kick in, so we may see a major trade at the deadline if the current combination of players isn’t a top 6 team. If they are, it will be difficult for new owners ARod and Lore to start cutting salary in deals that make the team worse, particularly since they will likely be about to ask taxpayers for a stadium deal.

I don't know anything... But if I had to guess id put George as the starter. Even if it's only 18 min to sextons 30 off the bench. I'm just not seeing the Jazz wanting Sexton starting.
"Thibs called back and wanted more picks," said Jorge Sedano. "And Pat Riley, literally, I was told, called him a mother-bleeper and hung up the phone."

OKC

Roster (as of today -15 & 3 two way)
PG : Giddey 6-8, Cason Wallace 6-4 , Tre Mann 6-3,
SG : SGA 6-6, Micic 6-5, Isaiah Joe 6-3,
SF :, Dort 6-4, Kenrich Williams 6-6, Aaron Wiggins 6-5,
PF : Jalen Williams 6-5 , Poku 7-0, Ous Dieng 6-9, Davis Bertans 6-10
C : Chet Holgrem 7-1, Jaylin Williams 6-9

Bold - confirmed starter (4)
Underlined - potential rotational players (7)
Players I want get minutes but unable to fit as underlined (wiggins, after a consolidation trade) , Dieng (after he proof himself in the gleague)

Two way -
Keyontae Johnson 6-6(G/F),
Lindy Waters 6-6(G/F),
Oliver Sarr 7-0(C).

Pending incoming -Patty Mills 6-0
Waived
Rudy Gay -6.5m
Tyty Washington -2.3m
Usman Garuba -2.6m
KPJ - 15.8m (traded Oladipo/JRE to reduce roster spot before opening day)
Jack white

Needs -
1. get down to 15 man roster . With Mills incoming and Jack White on a guaranteed contract we are now 19 roster. Oladipo is 1 given he’s injured. JRE/Mann/White might be the next 3 with a chance that Mills get a buyout and we keep 1 of them instead.
2. Fill up the two way . 2 more spot
3. Playable size . Get a PF/C by decluttering some of our guards minutes but hey maybe this season Poku take a leap. Update, Dieng preseason shows something promising (ie can get some backup minutes)

Trade assets
1. picks . Within reasons we will trade them.
2. Expiring andpseudo expiring (Mills 6.8m and Bertans 17m)
3. Cheap depth . Playeribility depends on your own team roster needs. Includes Isiah Joe (2m, 2 years) , Aaron Wiggin (2m, 2 years) , JRE (2m , 2 years) Tre Mann (3m,4m)

Rockets

FVV/Amen/A. Holiday
Jalen Green/KPJ
Brooks/Tari/Whitmore
Jabari/Tate/Green
Sengun/Landale

Could easily see Tari nabbing that starting job from Jabari. Will probably carry 15 so two roster spots to fill.

Need shooting 1st, 2nd and 3rd. Still have the room exception

Clippers

PG: Russ - Bones - Preston?
SG: PG - Norm - BJ
SF: Kawhi - Mann - Brown - Coffey - Miller?
PF: Nico - KJ - Mook
CE: Zu - Plumlee - Moussa?

Preston's non guaranteed, pushed back past SL. Moussa is a RFA with a two way QO, and Miller was the second rounder.

I'm assuming Moussa and Miller sign two way deals, not sure on Jay.

Meaning Clippers would be at 15 players signed with two two-ways. Unless they decline Preston.

Think the third two-way goes to Xavier Moon, who they really seem to like, and the final spot is left open until ten days are available (unless the buy out restrictions start next season, in which case, the final spot is for the buy out market)

However, the team will get very expensive next year when the extensions for Towns, Edwards and McDaniels kick in, so they’ll likely review their record at the trade deadline before making any major trades.

I think this is a reasonable summary for the Timberwolves' situation.

The focus for casual fans is on the big guys, but I think it's actually just a fraction of the purpose of the overall roster construction. Size is important, but I think the ultimate importance is when that size has versatility. That versatility can allow the team to put out some unique lineups that opponents may struggle to match up against.

The most critical player to the team's identity might actually be Kyle Anderson, because he takes that idea of size with versatility to the next level. As such, he was the very first move Tim Connelly made after taking over last summer. Naz Reid is also very important to this identity, and Finch has even alluded to the possibility of all three "centers" sharing the court in some situations. I say all that to say I don't think the team will be in a rush to clear any "logjam" at center. All three of them will play an important role this season, as will rookie Leonard Miller in future seasons. I'm not even ruling out them adding more size in the future as long as it fits the versatility piece.

They will continue to tinker with the backcourt depth going forward. Finding a PG of the future is important, but I don't think they will have to overpay to find one. I don't think a top-end facilitator is important to them, so someone in the mold of a Ron Harper, Derek Fisher or Avery Johnson will do. An aging Mike Conley fits this role perfectly in the time being, but can be moved if the right deal for a younger option comes along. The free agent signings this summer display the types of values they are looking for in depth pieces. I think they like the idea of adding these bigger guards with playmaking ability, similar to the moves Denver made a summer ago.

Important for this thread's purpose too, another thing management has focused on is getting in a year early on some guys, especially in the draft. If they need a year of seasoning in the G League, they're not afraid to still take a chance and let them develop. Finding little pieces of extra value is how they are working around the salary constrictions, such as trading the expiring Russell for a year of extra salary in Mike Conley and getting a young prospect in Nickeil Alexander-Walker who has bounced around early in his career and has shown flashes despite inconsistency. I thought they might do something similar with Taurean Prince, but I think their goal before ultimately waiving him was to get back as little salary as possible, which just wasn't on the table at the time.
