Would be pretty tough for Minnesota to hard cap themselves by taking in a sign and trade. Would be real close to the apron even if Bridges only got 20 million..

Fair enough, I hadn’t looked at their cap at all

I do really like the Bridges/McDaniels/Edwards fit a lot. Especially with Rudy obviously.

i would be overjoyed to trade #1, Grant, and other stuff for KAT

I think Bridges is 100% no. Optics of trading Towns can’t conclude with Bridges. Getting the #1 is the “good” optics - Bridges would sabotage whole transaction.

The top 5 drafted this year would likely have a problem getting into the top ten next year. So as long as you make a trade with a likely lottery team, you’re probably going to be fine.

So get the 2025 unprotected pick plus…
Washington: Avdija
Charlotte: another future pick
San Antonio: Vassell or Johnson

If I am SAS, I willingly give you their own 25 FRP and Johnson for the #1/Fournier (cut after the trade).

Imagine if SAS gets 2 of the top 3 picks - Risacher and Topic. Then if the Toronto pick comes through move it back for Filipowski.

Young team with plenty of upcoming picks - Filipowski, Wemby, Risacher, Vassell, Topic. Sochan coming off the bench. And still being well under the cap by a lot.

My offer from the Pels starts at our 24 pick, the Lakers 25 pick and the Bucks 27. How far off is that?

The Minnesota front office and coaching staff are really big on high character guys, so Bridges seems like a near certain no from the Wolves perspective.

Bridges sign n trade for Garland

Charlotte trades their lottery pick in a separate trade to make up value for the Bridges/Garland swap.

Is that a realistic trade for both sides?

Personally I think that is way off.

And not the point of this thread - getting Hornets win-now talent. Not just diluting the 2024 pick.

I wonder if the best move would be to keep the pick and move off of Ball. Games played 51, 75, 36, 22 (184 of a possible 328)
If he is only available 50% of the time, trading now would be smart.
They will not get a player with the same raw ability, but they could make a big jump in overall talent improvement.

That is an interesting idea.

Maybe Ball to ORL for Black and picks?

If his injury history doesn’t scare people off, that is a good plan. IF, big if, new Hornets regime doesn’t want to win-now and enter full tank.

RJ Barrett + #6 for #1 I guess, if the raptors do keep their own pick this year.

Probably not enough now that MJ is gone, but woulda been right up his alley once upon a time and Lamelo-Miller-Barrett-GrantWill-MarkWill with Micic, #6, Bridges, Richards is probably a competitive but ugly looking ballclub if Lamelo and Mark Williams are healthy all year.

Raptors pretty much ensure a tank and keeping their pick for the better 2025 draft (and it not going to the Spurs) and get their pick of wing prospects for a Poeltl-Barnes-2024 pick-2025 pick-Quickley lineup in just 15 short months, and save close to 15M or so a year.

Nope.

FOR

Doncic

Doncic and Ball make an interesting pairing. Young and ready to take on league. And Hornets can create max cap space before Mark Williams needs to be paid.

Id you have very, very, very compromising pictures of everyone in the Mavs organization and the major of the city you'd close. But still no.

This draft is so effing bad. I have a strong feeling the Pistons don’t get hosed this year and get a lottery ball chosen for a top 4 pick… and I have zero excitement about it.
