Hornets can be a team who can trade for him, raise him and extend him right?

Ainge would sure have his shiny object in #1 overall.

Grant + Micic + #1 + 2x 27 1sts Owed Hornets (Heat and Mavs)

FOR

Markkanen + Sexton + #29

Mark Williams
Markkanen
Miller
Sexton
Ball

That is a pretty decent team.

I wouldn't trade Lauri for 1, don't care that he's expiring.

Last time I remember actually trading the #1 for a good young prospect was when the Sixers traded the pick in a weak draft for Roy Hinson. It turned out to be Brad Daugherty which was pretty much a steal for Cleveland even though Daugherty wasn't what you want in a #1 pick center, not a rim protector or physically impressive, but turned out to be a smart, competent, offensive center.

How about Sharpe plus a 2025 pick swap?

Is that Sharpe even up for the #1 pick?

I wouldn't do that unless the pick swap was lottery protected for there is a real chance if
Brogdon is traded, Portland is even worse next season.

Portland would have to be really sold on Sarr's fit next to Ayton

I think Sharpe has more value than the first pick this year.

Pelicans could be in the mix with 2-3 firsts or Daniels and 1-2 firsts. Sarr could have their attention as a long-term switchable defensive Center with 3 pt. shooting potential.

I do think New Orleans makes sense as a team who can offer some volume assets and for whom there is a player of an archetype they could use.

Does this offer land Doncic?

#1 + Miller + 27/29/31 Hornets 1sts + 27 Heat/Mavs 1sts

FOR

Doncic

Doncic and Ball make an interesting pairing. Young and ready to take on league. And Hornets can create max cap space before Mark Williams needs to be paid.

I think Charlotte could offer their entire franchise for Luka and Dallas would say no.

Well, unless an established star gets offered (Ja, Garland, Zion, Maxey) I think that is an offer finally topping OKC (usually considered leader in clubhouse). Presti can top 5x owed 1sts of course (in quantity), but difficult to top (in quality) giving Mavs own 1st back AND 1sts from a franchise like Hornets (just fishing worst 4). And Presti needs to stack a lot of 1sts to equal #1 overall in current draft (yes even a “weak” draft).

Miller probably doesn’t have Jalen value (Chet off board) but really close getting #2 overall draft pick from previous draft.

Truly an unprecedented offer.

Yeah, I don’t want to think about Luka demanding out while Dallas is playing so well and this guy Gafford doing things only Chuck knew he could….

But that’s a really strong offer if it did happen this offseason. Miller is a really great prospect, Zacc/Sarr are interesting.. 5 firsts on top of 2 top 3 picks is a big ask.

This would solve Wolves money troubles. Now, Wolves really don’t want to wait for a rookie, so some win-now players would be needed. Maybe Grant and Micic would have some value.

Wolves would have to love either Topic as PGOF or Sarr as eventual Towns replacement.

You’ll need to change your screen name if the wolves start making trades like that.

This is the worst draft I can remember, at least at the top. I can’t really see anyone trading up in this one or trading into it with a a quality starter. I am sure some good players will come out of the draft but I can’t see any reason to trade much if value for the top pick. I think it has 11-15 value in a typical solid draft…maybe better if a team is really high on a dude projected in the top…but I don’t see that.

You’ll have to pay #1 something like 4/57 and the a QO around 25 million.
I’d much rather have a later pick in this particular draft.

What does Charlotte need?

Some defensive players who can also shoot.

Another 3&D wing would be fine.

Why not just take Sarr?
