OG for Bridges

Post#1 » by rambo_ortega » Sun Mar 24, 2024 6:11 pm

Nets Get:
OG Anunoby

They get a player they covet who probably has a higher ceiling than bridges as a go to guy

Simmons/Thomas/OG/Johnson/Claxton

Knicks Get:
Mikal Bridges

They basically get another Villanova guy who will blend well with their core and keep Brunson happy

Robinson/Randle/Bridges/Hart/Brunson

Who says YES or NO?

I think NYK is pretty happy with what OG does. Plus, he makes Thibs happy, lol. I think if Brooklyn decides to blow it up, New York can offer a compelling package of filler, a prospect or two, and a bunch of picks (say...2 unprotected, 3 protected?).

Brunson
Bridges
OG
Randle
Robinson

Not sure if that's a contender, but it is a fun and balanced team.

I have Brooklyn turning this down. No reason to give up something as valuable as Bridges for a sign and trade.

But also think NYK is happy to pay OG 30 mil a year.

Both teams are offering pick based packages here

O.G. says no.

Don’t really understand the point of this for Brooklyn.

Difficult to see OG as having more upside as a lead guy than Bridges.

Also difficult to see the salary matching would work given how much more OG is going to get next summer vs what Bridges makes now.

Bridges has the advantage of availability. If OG doesn't get right then I wonder how Thibs would feel about gambling every season on his shutdown wing being able to play.

I mean let’s not even begin with Bridges is the significantly better player, on one of the best contracts in the league for 2 more seasons, that OG is literally always hurt and is about to get a huge contract, but yeah, Bridges is also an iron man.

I don't think the Knicks part with OG to get Bridges but rather use their draft capital in an attempt to acquire him and maybe include Robinson to bring more value to the deal.

Knicks trade:
Bogy
Mitch Robinson
2024 Knicks 1st
2024 Dallas 1st
2025 Milwaukee 1st

Knicks get:
Mikal Bridges

Knicks give up their 2 picks in the 2024 draft and Milwaukees 2025 pick to complete the Nova gang. They resign Hartenstein and Achiuwa as their center rotation going forward. They leave themselves with ammo for the big move.

Nets trade:
Bridges

Nets get:
Bogy
Nance
2024 Knicks 1st
2024 Dallas 1st
2025 Milwaukee 1st
2027 Milwaukee 1st

Maybe Houston will give the Nets their picks back but if not, Nets get 2 picks in this draft which both will fall between 18-24, in a draft where they have none. and they add on 2 Milwaukee future picks. 4 total picks aint a bad haul for Bridges

Pelicans trade:
Nance
2027 Milwaukee 1st

Pelicans receive:
Mitchell Robinson

Pelicans get an anchor to replace Valancunias who's an UFA. Robinson locked into another 3 years on his deal with a declining contract.

Great point: for this trade to happen, three parties (NYK, BKN, and OG) have to all agree

I prefer OG defensively if I'm the Knicks, but his proneness to injury makes me think about this.

This is definitely not it for the Nets, especially factoring in trading him to their crosstown rival.
