Offers for Brandon Ingram?

Post#1 » by JustBuzzin » Wed Apr 17, 2024 2:31 am

Watching him get benched for Murphy and his bad body language he's basically gone this offseason. He just doesn't fit with Zion.

It’s tough to trade him with only 1 year remaining and coming off a down year. Can the team that trades for him then extend him? Can he extend and then be traded?

NO’s best bet is to extend him this summer and keep the asset, even if they can’t immediately move him. I don’t see Ingram passing up 4 years and $200 million, which is about 10% less than his max.

If Ingram’s contract came with more control, I would be open to a Garland for Ingram swap with maybe a first rounder tossed in as sweetener. This is only if Mitchell extends.

Controversial Take:

Is Ingram really anything more than a slightly above average player?

Seems like a limited impact guys, misses 20-30 games a year.

As a fan of a team looking to "buy", I don't know how thrilled I would be with him.

He does seem like a guy who helps bad teams more than good teams. He can be an acceptable 1st option. But he's not that good off the ball (as shown in the world championships) and top teams usually have a better 1st option.

It's been discussed, but Murray for Ingram makes sense, IMO. Value is probably about the same (slightly in favor of DJM) but both players need change of scenery. Does a Bufkin for Daniels inclusion bridge the gap?

Probably yes in terms of player caliber, but not anymore once you factor in contract (expiring vs 3/4 more years) and reliability gap. Pelicans owe value here.

Hawks get:
Brandon Ingram
Wendell Carter Jr.
16th Overall Draft Pick

Pelicans get:
Dejounte Murray

Magic get:
Clint Capela
AJ Griffin
10th Overall Draft Pick

The Hawks would need to get a defensive SG (Bruce Brown?), but otherwise rebalance their roster nicely.

Completely agree.

He looks like he should be KD light. But he just doesn't seem to make any impact.

He generally looks like he's completely stoned at all times.

Ingram for Murray makes a ton of sense but as others have said NO owes value.

I think NO throwing in their 2024 FRP makes it pretty fair.

This roster is much more balanced -

G Dejounte Murray / Jose Alvarado / Dyson Daniels
G CJ McCollum / Dyson Daniels / Jordan Hawkins
F Herb Jones / Tre Murphy / Matt Ryan
F Zion Williamson / Tre Murphy / JRE
C Jonas Val / Jalen Smith (Full MLE) / JRE

Gamble on the shooting of Jalen being a non outlier, if he keeps shooting like that it does a ton to open the floor.

I would rather trade Zion because he does not fit with Ingram.

Lol what? Zion is 10x the player Ingram will ever be.

Wolves get Ingram, ‘25 & ‘27 1st (Pels or Bucks)
Pels get KAT

Pels get a great match next to Zion. Wolves balance their roster with a needed wing.

He was literally a allstar a few years ago and was getting comparisons to KD.

I think he needs to be the main option. Kind of hard to play off Zion.

Imagine Ingram playing off Jokic or Embid? :o

Really? Interesting. Remind me what Zion can do beyond cutting?

Why does it even matter if you can get 30 points off cutting with elite efficiency.

Because it happens at the cost of other players’ efficiency. To make Zion score 30 pts, all team has to work hard to create him cutting opportunities enough to justify his salary. He is effectively a liability on both ends. No defence, no creation, no shooting, no passing.

I'd like to see the Pistons add Ingram.

Ivey + Stewart + '24 1st [Pistons would have to draft who the Pelicans want], future 1st would probably be the offer.

Depending on where the Pistons pick lands, they could end up with a player like Sarr.

Ingram on $50m/yr is an untradable deal
