I think the type of players Atlanta wants and what Orlando has doesn't exactly line up.

Everything from the Hawks FO seems to indicate it will be Murray who is shipped. While Murray might be a better fit, Young is going to sell more jerseys and tickets, which is all Ressler cares about.

Hawks are going to be on the trade board all offseason. Really doubt they trade Trae but Murray, Capela, Hunter and Bogdanovic could all be on the move. If Trae isn't traded to SAS for our picks back then there is no chance the Hawks go into rebuild. They will make lateral moves to try to restructure the team

Hybrid of Trae to Spurs…

To Spurs: Trae + Reid + Moore Jr

To Hawks: Towns + Vassell + Champagnie + All Hawks 1sts returned (via Spurs)

To Wolves: Jalen Johnson (assuming they like him more than Sochan from Spurs) + Capela (expiring) + Graham (expiring) + #10 (2024 Hawks 1st) + 2x 2025 1sts: Best of Spurs/Bulls/Raptors (via Spurs)

Spurs get Trae and Reid (great fit with Wemby), retain 2024 top 5 pick to keep adding to Wemby.

Hawks trade Trae but stay competitive, don’t retool, and get all own draft capital back.
Towns
Okongwu
Hunter
Vassell | BB
Murray

Wolves trade Towns: solve money problems, get a young core fitting stud in Jalen Johnson and picks.
Gobert | Capela
Jalen
Jaden
Edwards
Conley | Graham | #10

Hawks need defensive improvements, likely at the wings. That would lighten some of the defensive load on JJ.

Only player would be Isaac and I'm not sure our FO would do that... I would think hard about it

The Hawks will do nothing other than dumping Capela.

This could be very likely. Trade CC for cap flex and draft and center seems the most likely thing to happen.

I also look for Murray to a PG needy team for a young true SG as a high probability

I figured the Magic would want to offer some combination of Black, WCJ, and Howard and picks which doesn't really help Atlanta make a push to win more games.

ideally it would be Cole WCJ 3 picks but like you said that won't really help.

Swap Isaac for WCJ and that might work but then it takes away a lot of what Orlando would need to help shield Trae's defensive liabilities. Will be interesting to see what Trae or even Murray get's dealt for when it happens.

How is it depressed? His shooting went up slightly. His defense noticeably improved albeit still not good. Where is this depressed value you speak of because it sure isn't there statistically.

The Hawks playing so well with him out is going to badly harm his trade value.

JI will always be an injury time bomb. Something like JI, Black, and 25 pick for DJM makes some sense I'd guess.

Been brought up a ton. Murray > Ingram in value. Hawks can’t risk trading a locked in value contract Murray for an expiring Ingram. Set franchise back if they can’t retain Ingram.

Who wants the other guys? Clint Capela, De'Andre Hunter, Bogdan Bogdanovic?

Probably offending all three fan bases but..

Cap space and 18th to Toronto
RJ and 2 future firsts to Atlanta
Murray to Orlando

Toronto gets max cap space and a first out of RJ. They can bring Demar back home or overpay Bridges or…

Atlanta tries RJ next to Trae? While adding two future firsts in hope of a later consolidation trade.

I don’t think RJ is worth cap space and a first. But maybe he is.

Does San Antonio work with Atlanta on a deal around Murray/Vassell? Third team or not. Upset those that want Victor in the finals next year, but let it take its time.
