Who says no? Detroit/Atlanta
Let’s assume the Pistons pick third in the draft….. could be anywhere 1-5…..
The trade is:
Trae Young
For
Isaiah Stewart
Jaden Ivey
Pistons 2024 first round pick

Re: Who says no? Detroit/Atlanta
Atlanta has to say no here IMO. Even if you have Ivey and Stewart worth a first each, more is needed IMO.
And Detroit shouldn’t be making a win now trade. They don’t have a young core (or a core in general) to build around. It’s fine to sign Demar and try and end the bleeding. But it doesn’t really make sense to pay in a trade to do it IMO.

Re: Who says no? Detroit/Atlanta
On value, maybe it's fair, or even favouring Detroit -- I'm not here to praise Ivey
But I don't get it direction-wise for either team. Is Atlanta trying to get younger, or just trying to recoup something (anything?) for Trae? This surely isn't a win-now move for an expensive team that's below .500
This OP would leave Detroit with 2 major talents (Trae and Cade) who both need the ball and neither plays D at an NBA level, some youngsters who are 2-4 years from finding their level, and not much else. 30 win team, with no clear path to making even the play-in. Maybe it makes sense if we are able to nab OG as a FA, and trade Cade for value, but that's a stretch

I really like it for the Hawks, not so much for the Pistons. What exactly are they hoping to accomplish by picking up Young?
Don’t make it personal, don’t take it personal.
Sellers don’t set market value. Buyers don’t set market value.
Market value only exists when two (or more) parties are in agreement.

I want exactly zero part of a tiny, horrific defensively, chucker.
Hard pass.

Atlanta says no. Two negative players and one high pick in a meh draft isn’t close.

Both say no. Atlanta likely isn't going this direction and we've already see how Trae looks next to another guard who needs to ball to be effective.

I won’t speak for Atlanta.
But for Detroit Trae/Cade is a very poor fit on both sides of the ball.

Re: Who says no? Detroit/Atlanta
Atlanta would likely ask for Pick + Ivey + Ausar + Duren for Trae + Capela.
Detroit shouldn't touch Trae. He plays 0 defense and need the ball on his hand, we alread have one of those in Cade like oldncreaky said.

Hmm both teams think its a bad trade for their team, that must mean its a good trade and could happen. Don't two wrongs make a right?

To me this is the best reply - I’m trying to figure out what the Piston players are valued at these days. Apparently our starting power forward, starting shooting guard and a top five pick isn’t worth an All Star. Good times in Detroit.

What does Ivey give that Bufkin and Griffin don't?
