Suns/Pelicans

Post#1 » by louc1970 » Thu Apr 25, 2024 4:27 pm

Assuming the Suns and Pelicans are gone in the first round (both down 2-0), NOP takes a crack at making it further next year. Suns look to improve for the future as this team is horrible designed.

Suns send out Durant, Beal ($101M)
Pelicans send out McCollum, Ingram, Jones ($82M)

Suns get younger and have a team built to support Booker (Ingram, Jones, Nurkic). Move off of Beal (horrible trade to begin with). Durant will soon be in his whiny mode and ask to be moved. Beal would see the writing and understand he goes to a playoff team or sits the bench.
Pelicans get something for Ingram, move off of McCollum, and the cost becomes Jones. Pelicans might pick up a good PG in the draft (Collier/McCain are in the realm). Collier/Beal/Williamson/Durant/Val.

I don't think NOP wants to go all offense with Beal/Murphy/Zion/Durant/JV.

Upgrading McCollum to Beal makes sense, but not at the cost of Jones.

If New Orleans can swing something else and add defense then they should consider this.
