UTA-BKN-LAL

Post#1 » by HadAnEffectHere » Fri Apr 26, 2024 4:32 pm

Assuming D'lo opts in:

Utah gets: Gabe Vincent, 2025 Lakers second round pick
Brooklyn gets: D'lo, 2027 Lakers second round pick
Lakers get: Jordan Clarkson, Dorian Finney-Smith

Why for Utah: Move Clarkson where he wants to go and pick up an OK pick
Why for Brooklyn: Add desperately needed offense of any kind
Why for LA: Break up the toxic D'lo-Lakers relationship, add a wing defender, replacing ball handling that will be lost with D'lo gone.

I think Brooklyn looks to move DFS for a 1st, not DLo.

They should be able to get one in the off season, maybe even draft night if the right player is available at the right time.

I'm not sure what kind of 1st they are getting at this point.

Maybe a team in the 20s who has cap space or matching salary?

If either of these two teams do it, LAL should. I think LAL owes value here.. But would try something like..

Russel+29 (Utah) to Brooklyn
Vincent+17 to Utah
DFS+Clarkson+32 to LAL

Something like that.

Can't really do picks in this year's draft as D'lo will probably wait until the last minute to make his opt-in decision.

Maybe if he knows he’s getting traded to such a good situation (good for him, not for the team) he’ll opt in earlier.

But yeah, it complicates it.

I think they get lotto protected 2025 1st from a playoff team.

I’m sure they’d take a pick in the 20s if the guy they want is there. This years draft is going to be a crapshoot so I expect them to take a wait and see approach.
