Hornets/Mavs/Heat

Post#1 » by GoBobs » Mon Apr 29, 2024 9:59 pm

Hornets out: Miles Bridges (s&t), Heat 2027 pick returned
Hornets in: Hero, filler

Mavs out: PJ Washington, filler
Mavs in: Miles Bridges (20 mil per season on new contract)

Heat out: Hero
Heat in: PJ Washington, 2027 heat first round pick returned

Why for Hornets: Grant Williams can take the minutes at the PF position. Hero gives them another shooter at SG. Brandon Miller is the future at SF.

Why for Mavs: the prefer Bridges to PJ, if they don't then they can be left out of the deal and Bridges can go to Heat.

Why for Heat: save money and get their pick back, they have plenty of other guys at SG but could use a talented PF.

Yeah take Dallas out. I don't think they are dissatisfied with what Washington has brought them all all. They run into all kinds of apron issues with a S&T and of course I think the only team willing to give big, long-term gtd money to Bridges is Charlotte. Nothing about that guy says invest resources into me and give me a role where we are dependent on you. Charlotte already took the PR hit and have nothing further to lose in terms of competitiveness. That's not Dallas.

yuck, no thanks. We traded Rozier for that pick, why would we trade that pick and Bridges to get 80-90% of Rozier on an even bigger contract?

I got a resigned Bridges to a reasonable contract as valuable as Herro. Straight up maybe but PJ seems to be fitting in better with the Mavs now so they likely just take the safe route and stick with PJ.

yes cutting Mavs..PJ is a solid starter for us, and is quickly becoming a fan favorite, since he landed in Dallas (alongside Gafford) the defense is elite

Big no for Charlotte, not tracking the motivation for this for Charlotte but especially for Dallas.

I think THJ( with Maxi) and a first for Bridges is more likely. We are happy with our PJ. And PJ/Bridges worked well together.

No idea about Charlotte/Miami part, but assume both sides dislike it a bit.
