Fun but Unrealistic Idea (Chi/Minn/Atl)

Post#1 » by dwayn3wad3 » Sat Aug 9, 2008 8:09 pm

Chicago: Luol Deng, Aaron Gray and Kirk Hinrich
Minnesota: Corey Brewer and Brian Carinal
Atlanta: Al Horford and Speedy Claxton

Chicago: Al Horford, Corey Brewer, Brian Cardinal, Speedy Claxton
Minnesota: Kirk Hinirch, Aaron Gray
Atlanta: Luol Deng

Derrick Rose/Ben Gordon/Speedy Claxton
Larry Hughes/Thabo Shefolosha
Corey Brewer/Andres Noicioni
Al Horford/Drew Gooden
Joakim Noah/Tyrus Thomas

Just a fun idea, I thought it would be interesting to have Horford, Noah, Brewer, and Rose as an up and coming young team.

I would hope that ATL would break their phone in half after being offered this.

I was thinking "WHILE" being offered this. It would be admirable if they have the restraint to wait a minute or two.

Actually....if Deng was at all viable as a CENTER perhaps the Hawks give it some consideration.

Yeah, Chicago obviously bends both teams over at the same time.

I certainly understand that Kirk Hinrich is more productive than the MIN side, but are there really a lot of teams that want to inherit his contract? He's paid $38 mil, and the deal expires in 2012. The fact that its four years long alone, I feel, would limit a great deal of interest. Here are his numbers from a sub-par season last year:

FG 41.4% 3.3 RPG 6.0 APG 11.5 PPG

Maybe I'm just under-estimating Captain Kirk's market value. What's have other teams said they'd give for him?

two B level building blocks + expiring contract is the going rate from what I've seen.

To be fair, you guys are sending out Cardinal's two year deal, so the last two years are what bite you, and the contract is declining as the years go on.

Thanks. I haven't paid a lot of attention to the trade value from Hinrich. And like I said, I'm not even talking about the MIN side .. just trying to get a feel for whether Hinrich has positive trade value, which it sounds like he does.

^Well, to be honest, that package was being offered by POR, pre-draft, and before they drafted Bayless.

With the market for PGs smaller, I would think his value has gone down since than.
