THE Al Harrington Trade: Chi/GSW/LAC!

Post#1 » by N.O.R.E. » Thu Oct 30, 2008 4:43 am

Bulls Trade: Hinrich, Noah, Thabo
Receive: Camby, B.Wright, Bellinelli

Camby/Gooden
TT/B.Wright
Deng/Noc (dealt at deadline)
BG/Hughes/Bellinelli
Rose/BG

The Bulls cut the glut in the back-court while getting a good locker-room guy and mentor in Marcus Camby. The Bulls open up flexibility for 2010 while getting another potential stud in Brandan Wright.
Nocioni would be dealt at the deadline for an expiring back-up PG and 3.

Warriors Trade: Al Harrington, Brandan Wright, Bellinelli
Receive: Hinrich, Noah, cash

Biedrins/Noah
A.Randolph/Turiaf/Hendrix
Maggette/Azubuike
S-Jax/Hinrich
Hinrich/M.Williams/Ellis

The Warriors ditch an unhappy player and a prospect for 2 players that are ready to contribute right away. Hinrich plays alongside S-Jax until Monta is back and then they have a very good 3 man back-court rotation. PT is opened up for A. Randolph and Turiaf can play his natural position.

Clippers Trade: Camby, cash
Receive: Harrington, Thabo

The Clips add quality depth and get rid of an older player that overlaps many of Kaman's talents.

Is the Wright for Noah part of the deal supposed to be an incentive for GS?? Because a big win in trading Harrington is opening up PF minutes for Wright. Trading him away for an extra center who would just compete with Turiaf for backup minutes defeats the purpose.

Yeah, no thanks to giving up Wright.

Conversely, the Bulls don't need Wright really at the cost of Noah. Yea we're getting Camby back but he'd probably only be here for another couple of years. We've already got Thomas penciled into the 4 spot for the long-term so it would make more sense to keep the guy (Noah) would could potentially be a solid/good center for us long-term.

The problem with LAC's end, other than the incoming value is lacking a bit, is that Harrington overlaps Thomas' talents even more than Camby does Kaman.

I really think that people are making way too much of Kaman and Camby not working well together. They are not body doubles, and don't have anywhere near the same type of game. Marcus is a rail-thin, uptempo weakside shotblocking high-post bigman, whereas Kaman is almost the quintessential opposite, a burly, half-court, man-defense-oriented low-post weapon.
Some people really have a way with words. Other people... not... have... way.
