Okafor's value?
Gaging Okafor's value to other teams. The Bobcats would need two athletic bigs in return (COUGH MAXIELL AND AMIR). Carroll and May are throw ins if anyone wants them.
I don't support domestic violence. Thanks Miles

Its...not high. This guy is never going to put it together. I don't know. I'm a huge fan. UConn connection and everything. But he's just treading water on a huge contract to boot.
I'd give Noah, Nocioni/Gooden, as you preferred. Thats about it.

Re: Okafor's value?
I'd have loved to go after him....before he signed that big contract. But with 6 years and $75 mil left on the deal? Don't love him that much. If he was a pure C, had a more polished offensive game or didn't have a history of injuries I'd be more interested.
Detroit would have to include Sheed just to match salaries, and then also include picks/prospects. Which doesn't make much sense since we could keep Amir, Maxiell and our picks and go after somebody in FA next Summer.

Re: Okafor's value?
Oh, and if you're not just looking for 2 bigs, we could give you a Hinrich/Felton swap. Although this is all moot b/c Oak's PPP status makes it a bitch to get anything done.

^Neither deal will be embraced by CHA fans well, I already tried them both.

Re: Okafor's value?
It's really hard to make a deal work with Okafor's BYC status so this is the best I could come up with from Portland.
Charlotte trades:
Emeka Okafor
6-10 PF / C from Connecticut
12.0 ppg, 10.0 rpg, 0.3 apg in 37.5 minutes
Matt Carroll
6-6 SG from Notre Dame
0.0 ppg, 0.0 rpg, 2.0 apg in 13.0 minutes
Portland trades:
Channing Frye
6-11 C from Arizona
5.3 ppg, 3.3 rpg, 0.3 apg in 15.5 minutes
Joel Przybilla
7-1 C from Minnesota
3.3 ppg, 9.0 rpg, 1.0 apg in 25.9 minutes
Ike Diogu
6-8 PF from Arizona State
1.0 ppg, 1.0 rpg, 0.0 apg in 2.4 minutes
We know Larry Brown likes Frye and I'm pretty sure a hard-nosed C like Przybilla would be popular with him. Diogu has a nice potentially ending contract and is certainly no worse than May. The Bobcats also rid themselves of Carrolls contract.
Portland gets a formidable three-man PF-C rotation. Carroll probably won't be used much but his contract is the cost of doing business.

Re: Okafor's value?
I think with BYC factors and Okafor pretty much it as far as a viable big for the Bob's, there's low low chance of anything. The Bob's don't NEED an old /expiring sort..hey...Okafor WAS expired. A few more second stringers won't help. They don't need a SF or SG, what they basically do need is another Okafor-but who shoots better-to go with the one they have.
CENSORED... No comment.

Re: Okafor's value?
What about sending Okafor to Utah for Okur and Millsap?
Mek would make a much better fit in Utah's frontcout as long as Boozer is there and Charlotte's thin frontcourt could use the likes of Okur & Millsap.

I think the OP said "athletic".
I actually have a (blockbuster) bid from the Nets, but I would like to make a brand new thread out of it. I will credit you though, amcoolio, with the inspiration.

Re: Okafor's value?
Okafor would be a really nice fit in MIN next to Al Jefferson, and the Wolves have lots of cap space, picks, and young players that might fit CHA's plans.

Re: Okafor's value?
I played with it a little, but I don't have time to make a legit offer. However, the big question would be to CHA fans.
With Okafor's BYC, you're probably looking at adding $7 mil+ of other contracts to get a deal to salary match for both teams.
Who else would you want to include in an Okafor deal?

As a Cavalier, Gooden used to abuse Okafor regularly.
