Tor / Dal trade (let the attacks begin)

Post#1 » by w33dies » Sat Jan 24, 2009 5:30 pm

im a huge raptors fan and i think chris bosh is the man. I just dont know if hes the teams franchise player of the future. i dont know if hes going to book in a couple years but i think its safe to say hed make sure toronto got theres in any deal that happened.

my main reason for wanting to trade bosh... hes like our only scoring option. He usually does very well, but when we play a team with a big/strong front court, he gets absolutely raped.

i propose trade bosh for J. howard and Dampier.

assuming the marion oneal trade went through.. wed look something like

Calderon / parker / ukic
Howard / parker / graham
marion / howard / moon
Bargs / voskull
Dampier / jawaii

toronto's front court wouldn't be nearly as good offensively, but look at that teams defence...

i realize this makes dallas kind of soft... but im not a mavs fan... sorry

Why would the raptors, a team trying to build around running the floor, trade for Dampier?

Bass, Howard, picks, cash, prayers is the only way Dallas could hope to pry away Bosh IMO

look how attempting to run the floor has worked out for us... 2nd worst team in the east. had a seven game losing streak... defense wins games, not a million jumpers a game

Well, you're attempting to run the floor with garbage wing players.

the marion trade would help you guys a lot

im saying ditch the whole "run and gun" mentality, shape up our defense on the perimeter, open the floor with 4 solid scoring options.

Translation: Your trade blows.

You don't trade a superstar for scraps like that especially when he's in a slump. Not a single pick included pretty much made me laugh let alone taking Dampier back.

PLUS on top of that, if you plan on doing defense first and stopped the running game, why in the world would we go trade for Marion? Sure he has an expiring contract, but there are a few other expiring contracts that I would look at before that.

Why would you put Bosh and Nowitski together, you call Bosh 'soft' then this combo wouldn't make sense for Dallas.

Raptors also get raped in value here. So stop. Don't call yourself a Raps fan and say 'you think Bosh is the man' when you undermine him and trade him lesser value.

number one i didnt call bosh soft, i called dirk soft.
number two i put this trade out there because it filled a void on the perimeter
number three i know this trade would never happen, BC will do everything in his power to try and hang on to bosh. i was merely exploring options
number four If this team continues on its current path, bosh will probably bolt to a more appealing surrounding.
number five this forum is to discuss trades realistic or not. i've seen a lot worse
number six dont bash my integrity as a raptors fan, ive been watching this team since day one. if thats the kind of crap you wanna try and post... do me a favour and keep it to yourself.
number seven * note the "let the attacks begin" thank you to the people who posted with supported reasons

I can't see Toronto trading Bosh and I can't see Dallas trading Dirk, but if one of those 2 names is inolded, you can bet the other one is too.

#1- Bosh fans have no room to call Dirk soft and I as an Aldridge fan don't have much room to talk either lol
#2- It may fill a void, but trading away a 24 year old superstar will create a larger void
#3-It's good to get your feelers out, but be prepared to be bashed
#4-Very true
#5- there has been alot worse, but again be prepared to be bashed, it happens to everyone
#6-well said

There is much better options out there for Toronto to explore before they would resort to a trade like this. It was a good try but it wasn't close. Much better offers have been offered and torn apart.

For example: I've seen Aldridge, Fernandez, Rlec, 1st rounder for Bosh and filler deals shot down.....just to help you gauge more so what Bosh's value is.

Let's add the caveat of his value as it has been established on this board, not in the NBA. Just for completeness' sake.
