PHNX/MEM 5 player trade

Post#1 » by BigMatt355 » Tue Jan 27, 2009 2:55 am

Hear me out...I'm new to this board.

Phoenix gives
A. Stoudamire
M. Barnes

Memphis gives
R. Gay
M. Conley
D. Milicic

Stoudamire is becoming discontent in PHNX playing 2nd fiddle to Shaq...this way PHNX gets young talent back and gets the back up PG for Nash.

Memphis gets the inside presence to play along M. Gasol and the superstar that team has been missing since ...forever.

Don't know if Stoudamire would go for this but he might like the oppurtunity to have his own team

Welcome, BM355. Don't be a stranger.

This is not a terrible idea at all, but STAT is not going to want to spend his time in a rebuild. As much as Conley and Gay do not fit very well next to Mayo, the Grizzlies would need more than a two-year rental, which is all Amar'e would be.

The offer is not high enough. PHX says no, but it is a start. Maybe add Warrick as well or this year's pick unprotected.

Hak or the 1st round unprotected are a bit much...

But Memphis has plenty of picks saved up...I think they started a collection

Either you are way overvaluing Conley, or way undervaluing Stoudemire. Gay is good, but he has not hit a good percentage this season. If he replaced Stoudemires touches he would only average like 15-16 points per game in PHX, and we need more production out of that position. Plus this would leave PHX without a real PF other than Amundeson. Mili can play spot minutes there, but he is better as a high-post center.
