bdiddy to dallas............

Post#1 » by thaAteam » Sun May 17, 2009 12:00 am

last year the clippers offered biddy and kaman for jason kidds expiring contract.

dallas trades
erick dampier(expiring)
jerry stackhouse(2m buyout)
matt carroll
jj barea

dallas gets
baron davis
chris kaman

i think this trade works for both teams, la clears cap and saves a ton of money, also allow gordan to step in and get major minutes.

dallas gets a quality starting point guard that can get to the rim and also a low post presence. they both have long contracts and are injuy prone but i think if healthy, this trade along with a solid free agent and draft could push the mavs to the best team in the west

He is not better than Jason Kidd at all. Kidd, at worst, is a "no factor." Baron, on the other hand, can lose a game by himself even if all 11 other players are having wonderful games.

I would so take you up on your bet. And you would lose before we even leave Dallas.

I don't have any interest in Baron either. Wouldn't take him for free.

It's not free at all. We receive Kaman for virtually nothing.
But after serious consideration, I opt not to take on both contracts, flexibility wise.

I don't think it makes sense to have Kidd, Davis and Terry on the same team. So to do this deal means Dallas lets Kidd go. And that kills their talent level.

Probably not the deal the Mavs need. They need a SG.

IF, IF, IF Jason Kidd leaves Dallas in FA, I have been a strong proponent of this deal:

Terry/Howard/Carroll for B-Diddy/Kaman/Thornton

If the deal doesn't involve all three of those LAC pieces, though, I don't think it's worth Dallas absorbing salary.

You're right about the SG need, but I would follow-up the deal I outlined with a Stack/Shawne for Miller exchange. If roster size is an issue for the Wolves, MIN can add Smith, and it works with '09-'10 salaries.

Assuming someone outbids us for Bass, this would be our lineup:

Davis, Miller, Thorton, Nowitzki, Kaman
Barea, (Ellington), Wright, Smith, Dampier

I think we would be a stronger playoff team, potentially a contender.

^^^
No team with Baron as your starting PG is going to be a potential contender. Streak chuckers (especially if they are your primmary ball handler) don't last 4 rounds.

How did you miss it? It was all over the place before the trade dealine. Their was about 3 wiretap reagrding variations of LAC trying to get Kidd and the 1st involved Kaman

The only way Dallas takes on roughly 88 million between those two salaries is if the Clippers are willing to include Eric Gordon and DeAndre Jordan. If the Clippers are not willing to include a prize or two for taking on two bad contracts it's a no deal.
