Re: Wash/NJ: Carter reunited with Jamison
As much as I question some of these guys in the draft, this is a deal I'd do as a Nets fan.
Considering their luxury tax issues, I don't think Washington would pull the trigger. To help ease these potential luxury tax issues, here are two additions I'd consider making.
1. swapping Hassell ($4.35 mil exp) for Mike James ($6.46 mil exp).
2. swapping Boone for Blatche.

Re: Wash/NJ: Carter reunited with Jamison
i usually don't like the idea of trading carter for spare parts + a pick, but ive never seen a trade where we get #5, i would definitely do this...hey, ray allen fetched the #5 pick in a deeper draft at a similar point in his career as carter and similar salary...although boston was giving away all its pieces to compete right away, does washington think they can do that now? haywood/jamison/butler/carter/arenas is a great offensive lineup, not very good defensively though

Love Carter the player, but not his contract, and that's what really turns me off to this trade.

I understand the concerns about about Carter's contract, but I think this deal is fair in addressing those concerns with the inclusion of Stevenson and Songalia.
