Clippers/Thunder/Grizzlies Draft Day Blockbuster

Post#1 » by N.O.R.E. » Thu Jun 11, 2009 2:29 am

Clippers Trade: B. Griffin, B. Diddy, Zach Randolph, lotto protected 1st
Receive: Rubio, Jeff Green, Krstic, E. Watson, Jaric, Hassell

Kaman/DeAndre
Krstic/Camby
J.Green/Thornton
E.Gordon/Jaric
Rubio/Taylor/Watson

The Clippers get a great young core and max cap space in 2010. The Lakers won't have the cap space, so if LeBron wants L.A he can ring Bosh or Amare to team up on the Clippers. The Clippers could even deal for Bosh Amare using J.Green and Kaman and Watson as bait.
The Clips would be STACKED:

Krstic/DeAndre
Amare/Minny 2010 1st
LeBron/Thornton
E.Gordon/own 2010 1st/Jaric
Rubio/Taylor

Thunder Trade: #3 - Thabeet, Jeff Green, E. Watson, Krstic
Receive: B. Griffin, B. Diddy

Collison/FA/#27
B.Griffin/DJ White
Durant/Thabo
Westbrook/Thabo/Weaver
B.Davis/Westbrook/Atkins

The Thunder do this purely for marketing purposes, although they could become a contender with Griffin, Durant, Westbrook in the longterm.

Grizzlies Trade: #2 - Rubio, Jaric, Hassell
Receive: #3 - Thabeet, Zach Randolph, 2010 lotto protected 1st

The Grizz turn a possibly bad situation into a good one by strengthening the frontcourt and adding another lotto pick in 2010. By then Zach will be a valuable expiring and the Grizz would have a pretty amazing core.

WOW!!! You mean the Grizzlies get the #3 and Randolph for the #2... That is obviously WAAAAAYYYYY too good to pass up!!! Hurry call Chris Wallace and get him to agree to this quickly.

You can't say in the trade that the pick is lotto protected and then in your reason state that the Grizz get to add a 2010 lottery pick. Unless the clippers agree to have the worst record in the NBA and the pick is UNprotected, then this trade is so far past ridiculous it's not even funny.

Zach Randolph and 'good situation' in the same statement. Nice.

Let me get this straight. The Clips trade #1 and get #2, but the Grizz get #3? I can't see that happening.

Oh wait, the Grizz get Zach Randolph, nevermind!

Rubio has too much bust potential to even consider trading down a spot, while downgrading at the point and up front.

I think if Memphis traded for Bynum Rudy Gay would need to go. With the amount of touches Mayo and Gay get Bynum wouldn't be utilised to his full potential. Any team with both Mayo and Gay need more of a defensive center.

I'm not exactly sure how it would work, but leave the #2 pick out of it and have Marc Gasol, who is probably more complimentary to his brother, Kobe, and Odom, along with Gay and Conley go to the Lakers. The part I can't figure out is how to get Ariza into the deal along with Bynum. Ariza as a free agent doesn't fit into the deal, which Memphis needs.

Rubio/Mayo/Ariza/free agent power forward(Villineuva?)/Bynum

Conley/Bryant/Gay/Gasol/Gasol

This is where the Lakers come in from the other trade somebody threw out there:

Okla gets Griffin at 1; gives 3, Green
Mem gets Kaman, Green, Farmar, 29; gives 2, Gasol, 36
LAC surprises with LA boy DeRozan at 3, Bynum, 36; gives 1, Kaman
LAL gets Rubio at 2, Gasol; gives Bynum, Farmar, 29

the best part... Thabust is left for Sac

Okla gets their local Superstar, but its worth it for the Griffin/KD/Westbrook future
Mem roster upgraded with a starting 5 that looks strong with the 2 tough additions, solid b/u pg, and pick upgrade for depth
LAC turns LA on its ear with DeRozan and Bynum in blue and red. Future of Gordon, Bynum, DeRozan
LAL plays for now, with an eye on the post-Kobe era.

Westbrook/Watson/Livingston
Thabo/Weaver
Durant/Wilkins/#25
Griffin/White/Ibaka
Krstic/Collison
with room for FA signing

Conley/Farmar
Mayo/Jaric/#29
Gay/Warrick/#27
Green/Arthur
Kaman/Darko/Hadi

Baron/Taylor/#36
Gordon/Davis/Collins
DeRozan/Thornton
Zach/Camby/Skinner
Bynum/Jordan

Rubio/Fisher/Brown
Kobe/Vujacic
Ariza/Walton/Morrison
Gasol/Odom/Powell
Gasol/Mbenga

So let me get this straight for the Grizz:
1) The Grizz give up the #2 pick, a very good and young and never injured C
2) The Grizz get Green a very good but undersized PF
3) The Grizz get a broken C with a HUGE contract
4) Farmar, #29, #35 are not even worth mentioning

The Grizz would not take Kaman for a 2nd rounder with that contract much less give up Gasol2.0 to do it.

There is no way the Grizz touch this deal. They facilitate a deal to take on a stupid contract while shuffling the best talent to the other two teams in the deal.
