dallas gets the 2 guard the desperately need, detroit get 7 mil more in cap space which would put them around 25 mill, they could give bg and milsap 9 mill per, and gortat 6 mill. tht would b a good lineup

Include a Max for Dirk swap and i am not kidding. Your idea is laughable but that's expecting considering it's your idea.

For the last time, the Pistons are NOT looking to dump Hamilton to save money.
Stop proposing trades where a team takes him like they're doing us a favor.
Jeez.

I'll agree with the Pistons fans above me (and I am definitely NOT opposed to moving Rip).
Besides, I doubt Dallas would want to invest big money in a Kidd/Rip/Terry trio. Terry or Kidd would have to go.

why have a 31 yr old sg when your not contending, u say not but going after ben gordon is clear a better option.

I'm not opposed to moving Rip either. In fact I'd kinda like to see him go. But not for expirings or other crap packages.

I would do expirings or cap savings, but only if we get a young player back I deem worthy (for example, I really like both Young and Speights on Philly).

This I can agree with. I think Rip is still a very good SG. And I think he can play well off the ball with Kidd setting him up.
But we do not need to have $24 mil (3 yr) invested in Kidd, $29 mil (3 year) invested in Terry and $45 mil (4 year) invested in Hamilton when they are all 31yo or over.
Kidd/Terry is fine and Kidd/Hamilton is fine. Terry/Hamilton is not.
What would detroit fans think of a 3 way....
Maxiell + Terry to Portland
Hamilton to Dallas
Blake, Webster and Outlaw to Detroit

JES12 which part of RiP is not being moved by garbage was hard to understand? Do you think any of Blake/Outlaw or Webster are good players?
What about Dirk for Blake/Outlaw/Webster and lets say Detroit 2010 1st round pick? Great deal huh?

Re: dal/det rip a mav
But you think RiP for Portland garbage is a fair deal huh?
Detroit drafted 3 SF/PF why the hell do you think Detroit would trade a great SG in RiP for a garbage SF/PF in dumblaw and a guy who just spent the whole season injured after get extended and a PG who shouldn't even be a backup PG in this league?
And btw i don't want Dirk i don't like him at all just wanted you do give me a (Please Use More Appropriate Word) answer like that. Thanks.

BTW, if Kidd leaves or we S&T him, I would not even want a Terry/Hamilton swap!!!

Yeah i don't think we have enough pieces to offer for JeT he is a future hall of famer as well, the only team who could offer enough talent to Dallas is Portland.
But perhaps you can find another team to send a couple of SF/PF scrubs to Detroit. That's a position i am sure Joe D would love to fill and would be more than happy to give up a 3 times all star SG to fill that desperate need.

1st point: Duly noted. Dirk's value is not comparable to Rips. The sky is blue, too.
2nd point: Yeah, we did it and a) Look how it turned out! b) all the more reason we don't need to save even MORE money.
I'm not opposed to moving Rip for the right deal, but he's not useless to us. We aren't going to dump him for its own sake. Thinking we will shows a lack of knowledge of the situation.
