Lakers and Grizz

Post#1 » by shagadelic45 » Wed Jul 22, 2009 2:47 pm

MEM TRADES: Marc Gasol, Marko Jaric

LAL TRADES: Sasha Vujacic, Adam Morrison, Jordan Farmar, #2 Returned (MEM)

the grizz shave a year off jaric's deal and cut $ overall, while gaining back their second rounder and get a good, young backup pg.

the lakers get depth in the front court and backcourt for some of their abundance of guards

So the Lakers screw Memphis again? I wonder how much under the table cash this one would take?

how is mem getting screwed? they save $, get farmar and their second back, open a spot for thabeet to start and dump the 2 years and 15 million left on jaric's deal for 2 years and 10.5 million of vujacic

as bad as Thabeet looked in Las Vegas, i don't think Gasol is going anywhere in the near future, and certainly not for that package. i would love it for the Lakers, but Memphis is not gift wrapping another sweet deal the Lakers' way.

Yeah man that is brutal for MEM. They trade the only valuable player for a bunch of nothing and save a little bit of money. Nobody(not even MEM) just drops talented and young bigs like that.

Unfortunately, as much as I'd like G2 playing along side his brother, he's "Thabust Insurance".
They need him for two years while Thabeet develops.
If Thabeet does become a capable NBA C, then G2 could be avail - plus you know the Lakers already have their MLE set aside for him when he becomes a free agent in 2011.
