Raptors/Nets:Revised, 2 Different Deals

Post#1 » by Rapsobsessed7 » Tue Aug 4, 2009 5:43 pm

Raptors Trade:
Antoine Wright $1,800,000
2013 Second Round Pick

Nets Trade:
Jarvis Hayes $2,062,800

Raptors get more of a rebounding SF who can also play defense and score a bit.

Nets get an expiring for an expiring and pick up a second round pick in the process

Calderon/Jack/Ukic/Banks
Derozan/Belinelli/Douby
Hedo/Hayes
Bosh/Evans/Pops
Bargnani/Rasho/O'Byrant

or heres my revised version:

Raptors Trade:
Quincy Douby $855,189 (unguaranteed, cut)
Patrick O'Bryant $855,189
Antoine Wright $1,800,000
Cash (3 million maximum however much they want)
= 3,510,378 X 1.25 + 100,000
= 4,487,972

Nets Trade:
Jarvis Hayes $2,062,800
Sean Williams $1,629,120
= 3,691,920

Meaning the nets would save 1,036,731 + the cash which they would choose the amount out of the 3 million max

Calderon/Jack/Ukic
Derozan/Belinelli/Banks
Hedo/Hayes/Udoka
Bosh/Evans/Pops
Bargnani/Rasho/Williams

Harris/Alston/Dooling
Lee/CDR/Wright
Williams/Simmons/Hassel
Yi/Battie/Najera
Lopez/Boone/O'Byrant

I'd prefer to keep Stew and give Monte Morris
I'd really prefer to keep Morris and Stew and give the great Killian Hayes and 2nd round picks

I could see it. I don't put a lot of weight into a 2013 second rounder, but $200,000 now is still $200,000.

I guess it'd probably cover the Nets lawyer fees to complete the deal, but I think they probably wouldn't care much either way.

2013 is really the earliest 2nd rounder you can trade? lol

I like Hayes more than Wright, but considering neither are starting quality or have any long-term value to NJ, I'll take the extra $200,000 and pick.

While Nets fans are here...

Is Josh Boone at all available for what the Raptors could offer? We could really use a banger who can play the 4/5.

Since I don't think Boone is in their long term plans at all, I'd probably deal him for an expiring (preferably a big) and a pick or 2.

Something like Boone for O'Bryant, Douby (cut) and a pair of 2nd rounders is something I'd pull the trigger on.

No to the OP.

We need Hayes for his leadership. The money we're saving isn't significant enough even if we're bleeding money. Only way you can realistically get Hayes from us is if you take Najera and DO NOT give us any contract back that carries past this season.

Forgive me for missing the story, if true, but when or where did Hayes get any reputation of be a leader?

They're asking it of him this year.

Yeah Kiki and Devin both have been talking about him as a leader. Hayes not going anywhere unless we can get Najera or, to a lesser extent Dooling, unless we can get a TE or an expiring in return.

Also, all you need to do is watch games from last season too when Devin got hurt and we moved Dooling into the starting line up. Hayes carried the 2nd unit constantly showed that he could lead a some young and mediocre players to a level one would consider slightly below average. To me, that is pretty damn good considering what our 2nd unit looked like last year lol.

I'd rather keep Wright, cant see BC wanting any part of Williams
