Dallas - Milwakee

Post#1 » by alorenzana » Wed Aug 5, 2009 8:50 pm

This is a sign and trade for Ramon Sessions

Dallas would trade to Milwakee
1. PG JJ Barea (1.657 Million 1 Year) 7.8 ppg, 2.2 rpg, 3.4 apg in 20.3 minutes
2. SF/PF Shawne Williams (2.416 Million 1 Year) 2.8 ppg, 3.1 rpg, 0.1 apg in 11.3 minutes
3. PG/SG Jason Terry (9.075 Million 3 Years) 19.6 ppg, 2.4 rpg, 3.4 apg in 33.7 minutes
4. C Erick Dampier (12 Million 2 years, *next season is team option) 5.7 ppg, 7.1 rpg, 1.0 apg in 22.9 minutes
TOTAL 25 Million in contract money

Milwakee would trade to Dallas
1. C/PF Kurt Thomas (3.8 Million 1 Year ) 4.3 ppg, 5.1 rpg, 0.8 apg in 17.8 minutes
2. SG Michael Redd (17 Million 2 years, *next season is player option) 20.6 ppg, 3.1 rpg, 2.6 apg in 35.4 minutes
3. PG Ramon Sessions (4.283 Million 5 year, sign and trade 5 year deal $21 million)
11.6 ppg, 3.4 rpg, 6.0 apg in 27.3 minutes
TOTAL 25 Million in contract money

Why for Milwakee?
They get something for Redd (who will opt out next summer) and Sessions (they won't match anything over 3 million anually reportedly). Replace Redd with Jason Terry (this might be the deal breaker because of the contract, maybe can replace with Josh Howard. JJ Barea can really push for minutes in Milwakee with Charlie Bell, and they get 2 expiring contracts in Damp's contract that has team option next summer and shawne williams.

Why for Dallas?
Dallas gets a great young pg in Sessions that can alternate with Kidd and play more because he can defend bigger point guards than Barea could. They add Kurt Thomas to the rotation of Gooden and Thomas, if Milwakee balks at Terry's contract and the Mavs use Josh Howard, the Bucks could add Elson into the deal. Dallas also gets Michael Redd a bigger guard than Terry that can start with Kidd, Marion and Dirk to give a formable scoring lineup.

Interesting.....

When you say Milwaukee gets "something" for Redd, did you mean a collection of role players?

I would take out Terry and insert Howard and I'd be game as a Bucks fan. Bottom line is we get back a young PG in JJ, and also get Dampier but that's another thing without giving up Gadzuric that wouldn't look to good for the Bucks. But my thought has been all along for Redd to go to Dallas all day with Howard comin to MKE.

Terry. barea, and a collection fo guys. Mavs are terribly thin at C after this trade with the starter then being Thomas backed up by gooden. two PF masquerading. I would rather wait and make one of these Dally trades, especially the one with Salmons. I had no idea Salmons got 18 per last year.

If Josh Howard is swapped for Terry, then Elston, Thomas, & Gooden would be their 3 headed center monster. I think that these guys would all average 10 minutes a game, with sometimes Dirk playing the 5 in a small lineup

Totally unrealistic. mavs show no interest in Sessions. They also show not interest in Redd (esp if the cost is Terry or better). They also show no interest in trading Dampier.

So nothing in this post is realistic.
