The last thing Sacramento needs to trade for is a SF.
Francisco Garcia, Andre Nocioni, Donte Greene, Omri Casspi.......all can play the SF spot, if anything they need to move one or two of those guys, and it's unlikely to be Casspi.
Of all the preposterous assumptions of humanity over humanity, nothing exceeds most of the criticisms made on the habits of the poor by the well-housed, well-warmed, and well-fed.

The Kings also need to add bigs rather than trade them away. Sending out Thompson and Casspi just makes this absolutely awful for Sacramento.

Also, the Kings need another big to add to Thompson & Hawes, not to replace one of them with something else.

One big problem here is that you're regarding Casspi as a "prospect". He's been a productive rotation player all season for them and he's earning more minutes each month.

well he is a prospect. just cuz hes getting pt on a below .500 team, doesnt mean he's a rotation regular on an elite team. no doubt he can play but he hasnt proven anything that anyother rookie hasnt either.

Even if you categorize Casspi as a prospect, he's a prospect on a rookie contract that his current team is very high on, he's not going anywhere.

He's proven more then most rookies so far. You're basically saying all rookies are equal in value regardless of what they've accomplished in their first half season and I can't buy into that argument as I'm certain there are a number of players drafted higher than Casspi in this past draft that are destined for Euro ball or the D-League.

lakerhater ur obviously pro kings/casspi so its a dead end argument. but taj gibson, rodrique bubious, & dejaun blair(all drafted later than casspi) have all proven equal/better to casspi

Beaubois hasn't proven nearly as much as Casspi and if anything is struggling this month. There are some rookies like Gibson, Blair and Casspi that have proven they can play and are in the league to stay. There are others that haven't shown nearly enough to consider them long term NBA players.

Actually, no, CDM88. Just check out any rookie rankings on NBA or ESPN. Casspi has been in the top 5 (and sometimes even top 3) since December. Gibson, Bubious or Blair? Doubt it.

Casspi's ranking, etc. aren't even the reason this trade is so God-awful. It's utterly laughable that you have the Kings giving up 2 prospects for a near 30 year old SF who's an absolutely horrendous fit next to Evans. What's even worse is you have the Kings also giving up their best frontcourt player and replacing him with a bench caliber big man. As if the Kings front court isn't bad enough.

Yikes. Bad.

rpa pretty much nailed it.

And this guy has obviously never seen Casspi play.

Yea I agree that this is just bad for the Kings. Caron isn't young enough to build around so there is no need trading a young big like Thompson for him.
