I didn't like Cole and Mario being on the floor at the same time at all last season, and I am not optimistic that it will work next year with generally more defensive pressure to our perimeter players without LeBron on the floor. Yuck.

Another thing: Wade took 2 years in part because he, like team, is looking at TV contract in '16. Trusts organization to do right by him.

Dwyane Wade clarified a few things 2day. Among them: he wasn't sent by Heat to Vegas to recruit LeBron back. It was a planned personal trip.

Actually, because of that defensive pressure you are talking about is why we might see the 2 PG lineup. When teams pressure the ball and the perimeter, you want your best ball handlers on the floor. We lost Lebron which means we lost that element from our frontcourt but we still have Cole, Chalmers, Napier and Wade as capable ball handlers. I still think we need more depth on our backcourt though.

Of all four you mentioned, I trust Wade the most as a ball handler, but he needs to be healthy enough to be on the court.
I am excited about the next season but our backcourt depth (or overall quality) remains less than desirable.
The fact that FO sees Chalmers as a quality backup SG (which he isn't) put me back to the reality a little bit. A lot depends on Wade's health, but counting on Cole and Chalmers to man our backcourt when Wade is out doesn't really sound like a thought-out plan for a contender. That's a patchwork at best.
Oh well.. it is what it is. I still think we'll do well overall as a team.

Right now, we are leaving the spot open for Ray Allen just in case instead of rushing into signing a SG out of desperation. There is nothing attractive out there willing to take a short minimum contract. At least not yet. IF Allen signs, great. If he doesn't, then we would still have the roster spot and same money to offer someone else. We have not missed on any realistic options so I am not concerned.
It is still early in the process. There are going to be trades by other teams which might lead into buyouts, cuts etc. Camp doesn't start until October. There is still time. The most important thing is that Riley acknowledged the needs on the backcourt and up front. Let's give him time.
