LeBron's New Mansion in Miami

Post#1 » by BIRDMAN BIRDMAN » Sat Jul 17, 2010 9:35 am

Great buy for LeBron.

The mansion: http://www.alexshay.com/listings/proper ... ertyID=297

The article: http://www.lifeandstylemag.com/2010/07/ ... ng-50.html

After signing a six-year deal for $110 million with the NBA team last week, Life & Style can reveal that LeBron has started paperwork to purchase a $49.5 million 20,088- square-foot mansion at Casuarina Concourse -- the most expensive home in the Coral Gables, Fla., area! The basketball star has toured the home and is in the early stages of buying it.

"LeBron showed a lot of interest in the house," an insider reveals to Life & Style. "I think it's a slam-dunk the house is his."

The home belonged to the owner of Potamkin Auto Gallery, Alan Potamkin, who put the eight-bedroom, 11-bathroom estate on the market in April 2009. Prior to Potamkin's ownership, Pat Riley, the Heat's president, called it home, which could influence LeBron's decision.

"The property was taken off the market within hours of LeBron announcing his move to Miami," adds the insider. "It's no coincidence."

The estate faces the open waters of Biscayne Bay and is surrounded by 80 linear feet of waterfront. With three suites, all including full baths, an upstairs master suite with a full gym, a 12-camera security system, a billiards and media room, LeBron's new bachelor pad is equipped for party after party after party. And if his guests need to crash after a night out, a private guest suite with a tennis court and courtyard on its own acre of land is just another special feature. Looks like Miami just got a bit more Heat!

I find it humorous when houses like this are on the market but they can't even afford some hi-rez photography for it.

49.5 million dollar house camera used to capture its essence 50 bucks.

That was the asking price. In this market, I'd guess he got it for closer to $30-35M.

According to the property appraiser...

Assessment Information:
Year: 2009 2008
Land Value: $15,085,248 $16,813,766
Building Value: $7,131,773 $7,167,658
Market Value: $22,217,021 $23,981,424
Assessed Value: $17,605,611 $17,588,023

Also, last year's taxes on it were $350,000

Its a rumor. 790theticket was saying how they always "sell" that particular house in Coral Gables anytime a celebrity is rumored to be moving down here.

Man, that house is reason alone to sign with Miami. You can't find that type of setting to chill at after work in Ohio or most places in the country. I could chill by the pool everyday of the year. I wonder if Lebron was considering buying that house way before he signed with Miami.

He should build a inside court somewhere too so he can shoot whenever.

gosh, Lebron is going to broke eventually if he keeps balling like that (after his career ends)

- his group of buddies draws money from him
- now this expensive house
- other spending

Property is an investment.

That house will be worth more in 5 years than it is now.
