He auditioned for the role eventually taken by Samuel L. Jackson in Unbreakable as "Mr. Glass," but of course he got injured and couldn't attend the second audition for which he was scheduled.

I honestly don't even think it was that(this time) but he's always seemed to give an extra shout out to Haslem when he can. Always tosses a compliment his way.
