When Shaq left, Kobe became the unquestioned leader of the Lakers, and they built that team around him and went to 3 straight NBA finals ... and won 2 of them.
And you can't make that argument about Duncan at all.
Just like how Wade was the leader of the '06 Heat. I'm not trying to compare Kobe and Wade in terms of their accomplishments, just how they've both had their turn to be the man.
You're saying Kawhi isn't the man now? You're saying Parker doesn't have a case as being their most important player at one point? Duncan is great but he isn't their best player right now.
Like I said, a lot of superstars have their turn to be the man and sometimes they're not.
