**Predict the Heat 2015-2016 Regular season**

Post#1 » by RexBoyWonder » Tue Jul 21, 2015 10:46 am

So we might see a roster change or 2 down the road, but the core pieces and main rotation is pretty much set. Which means we can have the traditional prediction thread. Last year virtually everyone thought we'll do better then we did, but this is a new team in more ways then one.

All answers should address the regular season:

1) How many wins will the Heat have in the 2015-2016 season?
2) What seed will the Heat be to start the Eastern playoffs?
3) Who will be our 3 leading scorers, and what will their PPG be?
4) Who will be our best overall new addition?
5) Who will be our best rookie/young player (not including Whiteside)?
6) Who will be the biggest disappointment?
7) What trades will we end up doing during the year (or even before the season starts)?
8) What will be the biggest surprise of the season? (positive or negative or both)
9) What will our board posters write about Spo once this season is over?
10) Predict a nice/interesting statistical nugget you can see happening with the team or a player.
11) Predict the weirdest moment of the season.
12) Predict a RealGM Heat-board development you expect to see with a long time poster/s.
13) What will be the biggest factor to impact our success or failure this year?
14) What will you consider a success/failure this year?

15) Bonus playoff question - How far will we get in the playoffs and how will our season end?

1) 61
2) 1
3) D Wade 22 ppg, CB 20 ppg, Dragic 18 ppg
4) Gerald Green ( will be even more effective with major attention drawn by our star players and kicking it out to him for 3's, not to mention D Wade and Dragic giving him lobs all days.)
5) Winslow, I expect 10ppg, 5 rpg , 1.5 spg and 1 bpg from him
6) I don't want to answer this but if i had to pick one it might be McBob, mainly due to injuries.
7) Possibly trading away Chalmers or Anderson
8) Biggest surprise will be that we will be a lot better than what most people expect us to be. The only way for that to happen is by dethroning Cavs and showing them who's the real boss of the East.
9) Either be neutral if the season goes as what many of us expect 50+ wins or extremely furious with him if we don't capitalize on our talent again. I Think it's do or die for him this season (no excuses).
10) Best defensive team in the league with top 3 offence.
11) Someone on our team will score the ball on our on basket not once but several times during the season.
12) No idea -.-
13) Injuries...
14) Moderate success will be to get to ECF, very successful will be to get to the NBA finals, surpassing all expectations will be to win a Ring :) Failure will be getting anywhere between 5-8 seed, extreme failure will be to not make the playoffs at all :S

15) Get that Ring or go home. :)

15) Bonus playoff question - How far will we get in the playoffs and how will our season end?

1. 52 wins

2. 3rd seed

3. Wade: 20.2ppg, Bosh: 18.8ppg, Dragic: 17ppg

4. Justise Winslow, I hope he gets a lot of burn as Wade and Dengs backup. Vets can play come playoff time during the regular season let the young guys lessen the load on our starters.

5. Winslow easily

6. Amar'e Stoudemire, once a Knick always a Knick.

7. Dump Rio? Trade McBob to free up 2016 space? One of those two.

8. Whiteside, his play will continue to impress and his numbers will be jaw dropping. I anticipate multiple "How did Whiteside fall through the cracks?" Threads on the GB.

9. He did a good job managing Wade's minutes.

10. Dwyane Wade and Goran Dragic, most efficient backcourt in the league.

11. Mario Chalmers will drop 20pts on us after being traded. Lol Either that or Beasley the return part 4.

12. IDK, Maybe me and Iggie will gush about 6 picks Kaminsky. I expect us to have a SJ vs Winslow rivalry with the Detroit board. I already don't like those guys and nothing has even happened yet lol. **** The Pistons! :x

13. Health and Chemistry. Let's assume Wade will miss 20 or so games whether thats because of injuries or simple rest. How good are we without him? If we can manage just fine with Goran, Bosh, Whiteside, and Winslow we'll be fine and we'll be a good regular season team. If we need to ride Wade though and rely on him to pull out games for us like last season... We're in for a world of trouble. We need him fresh and ready for the playoffs. He should never play more than 32mpg.

14. Failure 1st round exit. Success ECF appearance. Good enough competitive 2nd round loss.

15. We'll make the ECF's and give LBJ a run for his money. He better hope K. Love and Kyrie don't **** the bed. :)

We've really got our work cut out for us though.
Don’t let us get one. — Nikola Jovic

All answers should address the regular season:

1) How many wins will the Heat have in the 2015-2016 season?

47 (+9 over last year)

RexBoyWonder wrote:2) What seed will the Heat be to start the Eastern playoffs?

5th

Wade: 21 ppg

Dragic: 16 ppg

Gerald Green

RexBoyWonder wrote:5) Who will be our best rookie/young player (not including Whiteside)?

JustiSe Winslow

RexBoyWonder wrote:6) Who will be the biggest disappointment?

Luol Deng, but not that disappointing.

RexBoyWonder wrote:7) What trades will we end up doing during the year (or even before the season starts)?

I still think we'll try to move Chalmers for a second round pick to save money and free up space for our other players to blossom.

RexBoyWonder wrote:8) What will be the biggest surprise of the season? (positive or negative or both)

Shabazz Napier will prove to be a competent backup PG.

RexBoyWonder wrote:9) What will our board posters write about Spo once this season is over?

Easy. Needs to give young players like Napier, Richardson, and Winslow more court time.

RexBoyWonder wrote:10) Predict a nice/interesting statistical nugget you can see happening with the team or a player.

Whiteside will have five games with five or more blocks and will average 3.5 (puts him up with 1989 Ewing - Patrick Ewing's best year)

RexBoyWonder wrote:11) Predict the weirdest moment of the season.

Our season? We will bring back either Michael Beasley or someone from the D-League to help in the front court when Stoudemire or Birdman gets injured. That will be weird. :-(

RexBoyWonder wrote:12) Predict a RealGM Heat-board development you expect to see with a long time poster/s.

A general consensus will build that Spo is at least a positive factor.

RexBoyWonder wrote:13) What will be the biggest factor to impact our success or failure this year?

Health.

RexBoyWonder wrote:14) What will you consider a success/failure this year?

Regular Season: (s)3rd place finish. (f) 7th place finish

RexBoyWonder wrote:15) Bonus playoff question - How far will we get in the playoffs and how will our season end?

We finish 5th, take out the Bulls/Hawks/Wizards/Raptors (4th) and then exit in the second round to a superior team (Frank Kaminsky's Charlotte).

Edit: Didn't read the ones from before, but it's funny how similar mine is to Slot Machine's. (& where it's different)

Green (best 3 point shooter?)
5) Who will be our best rookie/young player (not including Whiteside)?

1) How many wins will the Heat have in the 2015-2016 season?
48
2) What seed will the Heat be to start the Eastern playoffs?
4 seed
3) Who will be our 3 leading scorers, and what will their PPG be?
Wade 19.5ppg, Bosh 19ppg, Dragic 18ppg
4) Who will be our best overall new addition?
Gerald Green, I have high hopes for this dude...
5) Who will be our best rookie/young player (not including Whiteside)?
Winslow
6) Who will be the biggest disappointment?
Amare... his defense is catastrophically BAD. If he becomes our back up C, we are in deep ****.
7) What trades will we end up doing during the year (or even before the season starts)?
Rio for poop, Bird for nothing. MAYBE Napier, a salary dump, maybe to Portland.
8) What will be the biggest surprise of the season? (positive or negative or both)
Winslow making an impact defensively off the bench.
Wade plays 68 games.
BOSH MVP-LIKE SEASON YEAH!!!
Dragic makes our offense run more smoothly and better... a change from Wario/Hole tandem.
9) What will our board posters write about Spo once this season is over?
I am HOPING... we talk about how he did a good job managing minutes, its something I'm looking at from him. We HAVE the depth this season, especially TWO back ups for Wade. Only one is Dragic doesnt have a viable back up possibly.
10) Predict a nice/interesting statistical nugget you can see happening with the team or a player.
Gerald Green shoots 38%-40% from 3.
Whiteside averages 2.5blks - 3 blks for the season.
The team bench averages 25-30ppg.
Bosh and Dragic 50% shooting, Wade 49%. Would love all of them to shoot 50%, maybe its a stretch.
11) Predict the weirdest moment of the season.
Blowing leads and there will be a point in time where everyone isn't on the same page, hopefully we don't crumble.
12) Predict a RealGM Heat-board development you expect to see with a long time poster/s.
Someone gonna get banned probably LMAO.
13) What will be the biggest factor to impact our success or failure this year?
Wade and Whiteside. Wade needs to be healthy, try to not miss 20 games... if he has to miss a game, I don't mind him sitting vs a bad team and Green starting or something. Whiteside is our only real big, and we depend on him defensively, maybe too much. We need these two guys more than any other players out there.
14) What will you consider a success/failure this year?
Failures - Seeding at 5-8th, not making the playoffs, getting knocked in the 1st round, our team not meshing, our bench stinking it up.
Success - ECF, beating Cavs or Bulls to advance. Don't expect to make the Finals, but it isn't a failure, just realistic. Would love the ECF tho...
15) Bonus playoff question - How far will we get in the playoffs and how will our season end?[/quote]
Head - 2nd round bounce
Heart - ECF vs Cavs... we lose to the Cavs tho >_<

Ha, I remember looking like a dumbass last year, as much of us did. But eh, its fun.

10) Predict a nice/interesting statistical nugget you can see happening with the team or a player. Monst DNP's than any other team

12) Predict a RealGM Heat-board development you expect to see with a long time poster/s. Some will migrate to other team boards
13) What will be the biggest factor to impact our success or failure this year? Development of better offensive sets to share the ball with more options than our main 3. Development and playing time for our youth to help them get acclimated and to rest our vets.

1) How many wins will the Heat have in the 2015-2016 season?
49 wins

2) What seed will the Heat be to start the Eastern playoffs?
The 4th seed

3) Who will be our 3 leading scorers, and what will their PPG be?
Bosh 20.5 PPG, Wade 20.1 PPG, Dragic 16.7 PPG

4) Who will be our best overall new addition?
Gerald Green

5) Who will be our best rookie/young player (not including Whiteside)?
Winslow

6) Who will be the biggest disappointment?
Wade, as he'll miss even more games than last year.

7) What trades will we end up doing during the year (or even before the season starts)?
Chalmers is the only one I see getting moved depending on how well Richardson and Johnson perform. We won't get much of value, perhaps a 2nd round pick or so.

8) What will be the biggest surprise of the season? (positive or negative or both)
Amar'e Stoudemire will play more games than Wade, which is a positive and negative surprise at the same time.

9) What will our board posters write about Spo once this season is over?
He's an average coach, but we'll need somebody more qualified to win a championship.

10) Predict a nice/interesting statistical nugget you can see happening with the team or a player.
We will be in the top 15 in pace and ORtg.

11) Predict the weirdest moment of the season.
Our bench will lead us to a bounce-back victory after what seemed to be a blowout against a top-team.

12) Predict a RealGM Heat-board development you expect to see with a long time poster/s.
One of the long-time posters will completely lose it over the non-sense some of the newbies post.

13) What will be the biggest factor to impact our success or failure this year?
Injuries going into the playoffs.

14) What will you consider a success/failure this year?
A success is always a championship for me, but realistically speaking anything from getting to the ECF to winning it all is a success. A real failure would be winning just two playoff games or less.

15) Bonus playoff question - How far will we get in the playoffs and how will our season end?
We will lose in the ECFs against a team not a lot of people expected to get there.

^ Why do you think Wade will miss even more games than last year? I'm of the complete opposite opinion. Wade currently is in great shape and not recovering from any injuries. We have more wing depth than we've ever had before which can help keep Wade at 29-30 MPG to avoid wear and tear, the single greatest contributor to injuries. I think he'll play 70 + games.

The fact that he has had another season under his belt. His body is slowly breaking down further and further, so I don't trust that it's gonna get better. He only played 31.8 minutes last year, I highly doubt a minute or two less per game is gonna change much. Besides, at his salary, he shouldn't play less than 30 minutes as it is anyways. Participating in 70 games at 24 to 25 MPG would be a similar disappointment in my opinion.

I will try to be as realistic as possible:

1) How many wins will the Heat have in the 2015-2016 season?

51 wins

2) What seed will the Heat be to start the Eastern playoffs?

3rd

3) Who will be our 3 leading scorers, and what will their PPG be?

Wade - 20 PPG
Bosh - 20 PPG
Dragic - 17.5 PPG

4) Who will be our best overall new addition?

Gerald Green - mainly due to the fact that he will be our best 3-point shooter, in which we desperately need.

5) Who will be our best rookie/young player (not including Whiteside)?

Justice Winslow but I wouldn't be surprised if Josh Richardson gets more burn (depending on how we deal with Rio)

6) Who will be the biggest disappointment?

I couldn't really chose Ennis because he is already a disappointment but if I had to chose someone who we expect to have a good year, I would have to say Tyler Johnson

7) What trades will we end up doing during the year (or even before the season starts)?

Anything dealing with Mario Chalmers

8) What will be the biggest surprise of the season? (positive or negative or both)

Positive-wise, Amare Stoudamire. I think he will provide a much bigger impact than we think; he will score automatically against bench team.

Negative-wise, the biggest surprise would be Hassan Whiteside not being the player we all thought he would be. But I seriously doubt it.

9) What will our board posters write about Spo once this season is over?

His insistence of playing Mario Chalmers over the youth Guards like TJ and Josh R. when he is clearly f***in' up. After the Rio trade, we will be saying he doesn't play Winslow enough.

10) Predict a nice/interesting statistical nugget you can see happening with the team or a player.

I will cheat and post multiple nuggets:
Dwyane Wade will finally break the 20k points mark in his career this season.
Hassan Whiteside will continue to break Heat records and his own records in rebounding and blocks; he will also lead the league in blocks per game
We will have 3(!!!) 10+ PPG scorers off the bench: possibly Amare, Winslow, and Green

11) Predict the weirdest moment of the season.

Dwyane Wade will play the most games he has ever played this season since 2010.

12) Predict a RealGM Heat-board development you expect to see with a long time poster/s.

#TeamHassanStats

13) What will be the biggest factor to impact our success or failure this year?

Without the unquestionable doubt, HEALTH

14) What will you consider a success/failure this year?

Success: Making the Playoffs as a Top 3 seed, reaching the ECF and possibly the Finals
Failure: Not making the Playoffs AGAIN, for the 2nd year in a row

15) Bonus playoff question - How far will we get in the playoffs and how will our season end?

Depending on the seeding and matchups: If we meet Cleveland before the ECF, we will lose. However, if we meet them in the ECF, I have a great feeling that we will win.

I had that in mind as well but I think you are underestimating the fact our depth at wing has greatly been bolstered compared to last season. Wade, if he does miss games, will be more because of rest rather than injuries and I don't think Wade will have to exert as much as he had to last season, especially in 2nd half of games due to our enhanced depth.

RexBoyWonder wrote:So we might see a roster change or 2 down the road, but the core pieces and main rotation is pretty much set. Which means we can have the traditional prediction thread. Last year virtually everyone thought we'll do better then we did, but this is a new team in more ways then one.

All answers should address the regular season:

1) How many wins will the Heat have in the 2015-2016 season?

49 (+11 over last year) really depends on how we do out of the gates. All the easy games are early this season.

RexBoyWonder wrote:2) What seed will the Heat be to start the Eastern playoffs?

3rd

RexBoyWonder wrote:3) Who will be our 3 leading scorers, and what will their PPG be?

Wade: 20 ppg
Bosh: 17 ppg
Dragic: 15 ppg

RexBoyWonder wrote:4) Who will be our best overall new addition?

Gerald Green. Prolific scorer.

RexBoyWonder wrote:5) Who will be our best rookie/young player (not including Whiteside)?

Justise Winslow.

RexBoyWonder wrote:6) Who will be the biggest disappointment?

Almario Chalmers. His shot might still be broken.

Positive: Winslow is a top 5 rookie.
Negative: Still the worst second half team in the league.

RexBoyWonder wrote:9) What will our board posters write about Spo once this season is over?

Depends on our record. Radical opinions between being fired or GOAT. The usual.

RexBoyWonder wrote:10) Predict a nice/interesting statistical nugget you can see happening with the team or a player.

Whiteside will have the most blocks in the league.

RexBoyWonder wrote:11) Predict the weirdest moment of the season.

8 blown leads by our team after being ahead 10+ points; but still pull out a win.

RexBoyWonder wrote:12) Predict a RealGM Heat-board development you expect to see with a long time poster/s.

Very random. I don't know how to answer that. Probably "Fk the general board".

RexBoyWonder wrote:13) What will be the biggest factor to impact our success or failure this year?

Coaching. That headless chicken defense and slow offense will be the death of us.

RexBoyWonder wrote:14) What will you consider a success/failure this year?

Regular Season: (s) 4th place finish. (f) depends on health, but anything 6th place or worse.

RexBoyWonder wrote:15) Bonus playoff question - How far will we get in the playoffs and how will our season end?

War with Cleveland in the ECF. Depends on health though. We have some players with a shaky injury history. If we're hurt, we will be a second round team if we face a team like ATL. But I feel we're better than everyone else other than cle and ATL.

Take San Antonio for example. That team is filled with fossils, yet they were able to stay the healthiest team, most likely because they are so deep.
