Amazing defensive IQ for sure, fit for a bench role or six man off the bench, has Miami heat tattooed on his forehead based on his play for sure. To me he is too small for my liking, really want something that has upside to elite player which is why I am so hard on for Shannon. I just don't see

I’m not sold on Shannon Jr yet. Sure he had some big scoring games this year but Uconn absolutely stifled him. I watched that game in full and it was bad. Devin Carter on the other hand played well against them. I mean 6’3 200 pounds is great size for a PG and he also has a 6’9 wingspan. I look at Shannon Jr and see more a Kelly Oubre type player in the league.

Sure Carter looks smart, tough, plays hard - a great guy to bring off the bench as a backup PG for sure.

But what's really the ceiling of a 6'3 guard with a shaky jump shot, average speed, not a great passer?

We're using our highest pick in years on a career backup PG? Just keep Delon Wright.

An upperclassmen 3&D guard with a hardworking rep, AND with Heat org and Miami connections? AND When we have to play guys like Tyler Herro, Rozier and Duncan Robinson at the other guard position? Devin Carter is such a heat pick at a position of need, the only way only they don't pick him is if some other young player blows their mind in the workouts and interviews. Or if he's already gone. This draft is weak at the top, and the league should be catching on that older prospects are valuable.

If Terrence Shannon is still on the board you take him and run. 6'-7" SG 225lbs 6'-8" Wingspan 8'6" standing reach with 38" Vert

The only problem is he has a hearing upcoming in May, for an alleged rape all things point to him being innocent though following up with all his hearings, did my research, sounds like the girl is trying to get back at him. I think May 10 is the next hearing, if it all goes well, giving him the benefit of the doubt so far. Dude is too good to ignore. Also he is 23 years old, a ready now talent.

He's been on my radar lately.

He's older, which is not necessarily a bad thing for our geriatric organization, because he's more ready.

I really love his size, slashing ability, finishing ability, and overall natural scoring ability. He has great tools, with some polish he might be a 3 level scorer that can defend some too.
Shannon is not 6'8 or 6'7. He is more 6'6 or 6'5.

Like Tristan da Silva. Good IQ and size with some range. Ready now prospect that could play both forward positions.

Excellent prospect for sure. Think Kyle Kuzma with better head on his shouders.

If we go the super high upside talent route then it's going to be Isiah Collier for me. He's 6'5 210 and has potential to compliment Herro and Rozier due to his size and attack the basket type game.

Yeah he was another guy I was looking into he is a sleeper for sure. He is considered to have more paint touches than any other player in the draft with how often he finds himself there, super quick first step, and has that slithery ability similar to Dwade where he just comes around a screens really well, stays really close to the ground dribbles really low. He doesn't play above the rim so isn't Ja Morant level explosive Jumping over players, however he is below the rim creative scorer for sure.

Collier got to the free throw line 5.8 a game.

People are calling him the French Giannis. He has great physical tools at 6’9 with a long wingspan at over 7 feet. He can shoot the 3, solid defender, he can take the ball to the cup, and create for himself. He’s only 19, and he’s still a little raw, but this would be a great high upside pick.

You could play him in lineups with BAM and Jovic. I’m hoping he falls to our range so we could have a chance to draft him.

Would you agree that the highest upside guys that might drop to #15 are Edey and Collier?

This is a year to swing for the fences

Edey does not fit Spo’s brand of basketball and would never see the court with Bam. Would be an absolute waste of a pick. As for Collier i have this terrible feeling he’ll be signing on with Klutch. Maybe we finally take a Klutch player but not optimistic. What are we going on year 12 now of never dealing with Rich Paul. I know you want to poo poo on Devin Carter but the whole Heat organization is going to be on him big time just like JJJ.

I can see the Raptors taking Edey with the 19th pick. Obviously with the Canadien connection.

It totally make sense that the Heat don't take Edey, he would clash with the higher pace and space system I think the heat will move towards in the post Jimmy era. The raptors also has history with big traditional centers.
Though I also see us in a few seasons getting beat up a couple games a year against the Raptors cause we have nobody who can defend Edey and Edey's archetype usually gives Bam fits.

Here's my take no more defensive specialist with broken shots. No player under 6'-4" in height, tired of the midget guards, Also if its a PF please please make sure he is not a tweener, get the 6'-10" player or bigger. Also take a chance on a scorer with high upside, somebody that can turn into a 3 level scorer.

I like Devin Carter as a player, but not at #15. He's a second round talent.

Small guard that play hard on defense is just not a winning formula.

The game has been going towards 3 things for years now :

1) Offense
2 ) 3 point shooting
3) Size

If you don't bring any of these at a high level, you're not a FRP talent.

Carter is a player a team like the Nuggets can take - low first round pick for a team that just needs solid bench play.

We on the other hand - need to aim higher, we need an injection of scoring talent/size in the worst way.
