No way it happens though. Riley is not dealing Bam, no chance.

I also doubt he'd dealing Jimmy. I think the more likely scenario is Herro is shopped to see what he can get, and possibly we revisit the Dame conversation with Milwaukee given their first round exit.

Unless Presti offers his precious picks, makes sense since their core is pretty much set and just an all-star vet away to dominate the next 5 years.

Once that memo came out, you knew there was a mandate from the league that Lillard could not be traded to Miami.

OKC future picks
2024 - projected 1-4 from HOU
2024 - projected 1-10 from UTA
2024 - No restrictions from LAC

2025 - projected 1-14 from MIA
2025 - projected 1-6 from PHI

Crazy assets, they can literally trade for a piece that they want lmao.

Bam pack your things

Whats the point for Miami tho?

Trade Bam for a bunch of picks....and then just tank for the duration of Butler's contract?

I wouldn’t give Jimmy 35 million per year let alone any more. Heat should avoid being a team that handcuffs themselves to an aging star at all costs. If we weren’t willing to play ball with older Wade we certainly shouldn’t with Jimmy

Trade him as well, but Heat will not get a lot out of Jimmy due to age, but If y'all want a full rebuild, you have to put Bam in the table to make it happen

This is not a trim around edges situation anymore. A title inspired team would be very interested in Butler. Lakers, Suns, Pelicans, Mavs and Houston may be interested. Teams that have a lead player that Butler can be a #2 guy.

The problem is we'd be settling for pennies on the dollar. What is the best we can possibly get from these teams?

Lakers - They own first rounders in '25 and '26 that are worthless. Best package of players they can offer is Reaves/Gabe/Rui
Suns - They don't have any firsts for the foreseeable future, they could swap Beal straight up but that does nothing for us.
Pelicans and Mavs don't have the players to make a deal worth our while.
Houston - you almost have to take back Van Vleet, maybe include another asset and pry away Jalen Green

The uncomfortable conversation is you can get a better deal for Bam

Well if Gobert was traded for 6 FRPs.....the cost for Bam STARTS there.

5 is the minimum. Like I said, a team like OKC if they fail these playoffs might push the panic button. They know who to call 8-)

I wouldn't even consider it to be a panic move by OKC. They have a helluva roster and are pretty much one All-Star piece away. They are now moving into a phase of their rebuild where its time to use remaining assets to get that proven stud.

You already got the cornerstone that’s a top 20 player that elite players want to play with, it’s just on the FO to finally make it happen. You’ve got a much better chance winning championships over the next 10 seasons by keeping Bam than you do hoping and praying to find the next top 20 player ever in the draft lol

Well you said we are not winning *** with this FO right and a part-time player in Jimmy? So why not give Bam the courtesy and send him to a team with young teammates that he can dominate with? Win-win situation for both, and Riley can finally retire into sunset.

I actually think we have some nice foundation blocks.

Bam and Niko are a great pair to build with. We just need Niko to get reps and his experience up.

Jaquez should develop into either a starting quality SF, or a 6th man contender each year.

Herro is a question mark still. On his day, he's very good, but he's not a lead ball handler and can't be relied upon to consistently create high efficiency offense. He needs a PG to take the pressure off - perhaps that's Point Niko eventually, but for now he's not ready.

We need to clear the books a bit and find pieces that work together better. That probably puts Rozier on the block. It likely puts one of Herro or Duncan on the block.

There's a lot of ways we could go here. The Heat FO won't look to take a step back though. We'll always aim high and look to make the postseason, whether it's with the kids or the vets.

Easier said than done, 3ammy. We know Herro trade value is **** at the moment. But hey if the Godfather make it happen then I'm all for it.
