Update: Chia sends press release stating there was no trade.

reportedly for draft picks. Wow, I'm surprised we got much of anything for sturm. Wooo.

Seriously though, good luck sturm. You had a few bright moments here.

and the last player from that awful Joe Thornton trade is gone.

I really like Sturm's game when he actually plays. It's a shame about all the injuries over the last couple of years, I think it was two years ago when he was injuried and his first game back gets injuried for the rest of the year. Hopefully it works out for him in LA

Well there goes the final piece we got in the Joe Thornton trade.

What do we have to show for it...

Andrew Ference
Whatever picks we got for Chuck Kobasew
5th round draft pick

YAY!

But yeah... this was a necessary trade as it opens up a roster spot and also allows the Bruins to avoid a situation where they would have to send down a player who no one wants to see sent down!

He was getting up there in age, and at least they will get a relatively high pick, it is better than being a treadmill team
